Cinale

Cinale

Once again Rialine found herself in the great kitchens of the Vintner hall. Things were settling in very well at the new hall. Actually, she was completely settled and was getting bored. So in this free moment she decided to see if she could help out in the kitchens.

She hadn't actually met Cinale yet, so this would be as good as time as any, _if_ she could find her, and she wasn't busy with something. She found a women that met the description she had heard earlier, so she approached her. "Hello, are you Cinale?"

"That I am, hon!" Cinale replied, glancing over her shoulder at the girl. She didn't look familiar... Slapping the dough down on the wooden board once more, she turned around, dusting her powdered hands off on her apron. "And who might you be? Is there something I can help you with?"

"Yes, well, kind of." Rialine replied, before shaking her head and straightening up. "My name is Rialine. I've been settling my father's cot, we recently moved here, and now I have some time, so I was wondering if the kitchens needed any help?"

"Oh honny, we _always_ need help," Cinale grinned, her blue eyes brightening at the prospect of another two hands in her kitchen. "You can help me press the dough for the bread. Why don't you grab an apron from over there," she pointed to the side cabinet, "and then come back over here."

"Alright!" she responded running to grab an apron. After giving her hands and arms a wash she approached the dough, happily digging her arms in.

Cinale watched her for a moment. The girl certainly knew what she was doing! "Rialine... You're Talrian's daughter, aren't you?"

"Oh yes!" Rialine threw her hands up. "I'm sorry, I forgot to mention?" She sighed. "I need to work on my intro ditty."

"It's all right, hon," the cook grinned. "I've met your Papa. He's a nice man."

"Would you say otherwise to his daughter?" Rialine shot back, a bit impudently.

Cinale laughed. "Probably not. But I am ever truthful."

"Glad to hear it," Rialine replied glibly. "Since your so truthful, maybe you could tell me a bit more about the hall? It'd be nice to get my stories straight from an honest person."

"Well, what would you like to know?" she asked as she began to work the rest of the dough.

"Anything," Rialine responded, giggling, "Everything? I guess first it'd be good to know, if theres anyone, any places, I should avoid?"

"If you want to avoid trouble, Rialine, avoid the Hallmaster if it looks like he just ate something sour," the cook grinned. "His mood usually _is_ sour if his lips are set - you can always tell by his face." Cinale had comforted enough of her kitchen girls who had gotten on the wrong side of Fielton to know that things would run much smoother if they stayed out of his way. No doubt Rialine had heard this piece of advice before, though.

Rialine replied, trying to sound diplomatic. "Well yes, I have... heard he isn't the most... jovial of men, I guess?" She smiled, "But I appreciate a description of the look."

Noticing the way Rialine replied, a hint of a grin pulled at Cinale's lips as she glanced over at the younger woman. "You know, hon, you can be straightforward with me. I won't tell on you."

Rialine paused to reply. "I'm straightforward... Ask me anything you want. I'm an open book. " She protested before breaking out in a laugh. Rather then explaining herself she continued to kneed the dough once again.

"All right... Hmm. Well, for starters, Rialine, how do you find the Hall so far?"

She thought a moment, trying to put words to her new home. "It is, an interesting place. Smaller, but, more busy, maybe? At the healer hall, things only seemed to get aggitated during emergencies, so, calm was nice there. I certainly can't find fault with the welcome here, everyones been very kind."

"I would hope so," Cinale smiled, looking at her. "And you're right. We are _very_ busy - all the time. There's no end to it, I'm afraid," she winked.

"I think I'll like it in time. As I've been getting more setteled, I've been looking for more to do," she said with a laugh, her hands in the halls dough she felt a self explanation of trying to fill her time. "If I get whisked away in the business, then I'll stay more occupied, and start meeting more people." She said, rambling on a bit.

"Well, you know...you can always come down here when you want to be whisked away by business. I'll keep you busy - and you'll certainly be able to meet more people in here and out in the dining hall...and I might need you to run errands for me too, which is another way to meet interesting individuals..." The possibilities were endless! And if this girl was willing... Shards, Cinale wouldn't mind one _bit_ for another pair of willing hands in here!

"I would surely like to do that Cinale," Rialine responded with a grin, nodding her head. She had already privately decided she'd be coming around this place more often.
