Description: It's Sirjath's mating flight again and she goes for old familiar mate.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 13, day 3 of Turn 5
** I wish you would get on with it!** Uetia growled at her lifemate.
Sirjath's been near Rising whole day and it had made her edgy too. Now
sun was slipping down towards the horizon and she just wanted the whole
thing over with. Others had sensed how close she was too, and the
speculating looks from male riders had given her a urge to slap them. She
didn't however, she was a good girl.
}: I get on with it now! You come? :{ and just like that, she went from
near Rising to the Rising. Uetia quickly hurried to mount Sirjath. She
didn't bother with straps. It was just a short flight to the Feeding pens
and mating cots. Concious of her riding strapless, Sirjath made the flight
smooth and landed carefully. Uetia slid down and took her position.
Sirjath trumpeted her her intentions.
Kiloth was also by the feeding pens, and there was no mistaking the
sound of a green issuing her challenge. the blue responded in kind, his
rider hurrying to see who rode the green.
Aughashyth's sleepy mind snapped suddenly alert and Y'gel looked up
from his hide work. }:Sirjath rises and I will chase her:{ **Very
well my dear** he returned. Pushing off from his desk he crossed first
the cavern then the weyrbowl toward the flight room. Other riders were
headed the same way as the green issued her challenge.
}:I chase!:{ Sebeth announced.
**Who is it this time?** K'mai asked, already jogging to where his blue
waited.
}:Sirjath.:{
**Ahh, Uetia.** A smile spread across K'mai's face.
}:I will chase you,:{ Nanarith declared his attentions the moment
Sirjath descended towards the feeding pens. F'ten quickly made his way
towards his brown, knowing what would soon follow.
Sirjath didn't wait around for long. As soon as she saw she had enough
admirations, she jumped to the air, calling them to follow her.
Uetia watched her go and hoped that Sabonus were one of the men
gathering around her. She lost her from her sight soon and the
familiar merging of Uetia/Sirjath snapped into being. She was on the sky,
riding the wind.
M'van could sense Kiloth's anticipation as the blue launched into the
air. The blue circled trying to get him to a position where he could see
the opposition, and take advantage of it.
Nanarith lept into the air after Sirjath, beating his wings to keep pace
with the stunning green. F'ten found himself standing amid the circle of
riders, eager and excited to see who would come out on top of this
chase.
Sebeth shot after the beautiful green, easily out pacing the bronzes
and browns. They had stamina, but he had speed and agility. }:Sirjath,
choose me. I am better than these big and slow ones.:{
M'galec reached out to the young woman in the middle of the circle even
as Dwarkanath reached for her green with his mighty wings. He was
behind the browns and blues still, but he knew the smaller ones would
drop out soon. The browns were strong, but he was stronger. And the
bronze had experience on his side. He was happy with his chances in
this Flight.
Sirjath found a low cloud bank and slipped in, trying to loose her
chasers with the cover of the clouds. She weaved in and out of clouds.
Aughashyth found a thermal and rose above the weaving green. She was
splendidly agile quickly twisting and turning where he could never
hope to follow. He arched to the right and left to stay on her general
path through the clouds. Crooning his desire he chased the glowing
green dart dipping a wingtip to stir up the cover.
Sebeth kept up with Sirjath's acrobatics, his energy still high. K'mai
brushed a hand against Uetia as she passed as Sebeth turned again,
matching the green's movements. She was even more beautiful against
the white of the clouds.
Now Sirjath had really hard time choosing. There were familiar blues
like Sebeth or the new bronze. Which one to take? In the end she went
for familiar and safe and one she knew her rider liked too.
}:Choose me! Will fly you well!:{ Sebeth called to her.
}: I choose you, come and fly with me, :{ Sirjath told him.
Sebeth surged forward to claim his prize as K'mai pulled Uetia into his
arms.
Good natured Aughashyth simply wheeled and soared back toward the weyr
and the company of another pretty green on the heights. Y'gel turned
away from the pair of riders into waiting arms and lost himself for a
span.
