D'ale

D'ale felt the pride an contentment from Torerath before he felt
anything else. The brown was entwined with his mate basking in the
afterglow of winning the flight. He knew he held a man in his arms but
though he didn't prefer men he had been a rider long enough that the
fact did not turn his stomach as it had at an earlier age.

He smiled and said "Nice flight."

"It was," E'naer agreed.

D'ale reached up and caressed the side of the other man's face. The
scarring reminded him greatly of the ones Kenza bore. She was always so
self conscious of the way she looked yet they didn't matter at all to
him in his desire for her or her company. E'naer was a handsome man no
matter what he might think. His hand ran down his shoulder and back
then pulled him closer for a cuddle.

E'naer was more than happy to cuddle with him. Not many brownriders
wanted to. His touch made a pleasant shiver go along his spine. "Watch
it or demand retake," he warned playfully.

D'ale chuckled he didn't really want seconds with the green rider, but
he didn't mind basking in the afterglow of a very good flight. He
almost imagined his own shoulders aching with some of the maneuvers
Torerath had made following that minx Eillispeth's acrobatics.

If D'ale was not in a mood for talking or doing anything else, E'naer
was quite content just to lay there. It was relaxing, not having to
think or do or watch over the weyrlings. His eyes unfoced when he
checked Eillispeth. She was sleeping off her exhaustion, radiating
satisfaction.

"Someone's being a smug girl," he noted with amused tone.

"As she should be," D'ale answered. "She gave us quite the chase.
Torerath is very pleased she chose him." More experienced greens were
very difficult to catch until they tired. "Of course _I_am also glad
she chose him," he added.

He turned on his back and lifted his arms over his head, stretching.
Then he turned back to the green rider propping his head on his hand.
After flight pleasantries were sometimes easy and sometimes not. "I
don't think Torerath has ever won her flight before has he?"

E'naer had to think back for a while. They had had so many flights.
"Actually, I think he has, once. A long, long ago. I have to say
you're taking this much better than last time," he said with amusement
in his voice. "No screaming and running off naked," his grin was bit
wicked.

D'ale slapped a hand over his eyes in embarrassment. "Oh Faranth! Was that
you?"

"Yes," E'naer chuckled.

He shook his head with an embarrassed smile. "I am so very sorry
E'naer. What more can I say?"

"Don't worry. I didn't take it personally. You weren't the first or
last one to do so," E'naer said comfortingly.

"Well, I hope I've learned my lessons well. At least I didn't just
write a note." He chuckled at the dig at his own expense.

"You were too busy," the greenrider said.

D'ale laughed at his own expense. He remembered that naked run and how
badly he'd felt after. He found he liked E'naer and was glad the man
didn't hold his youthful behavior against him. "Well" he said sitting
up and swinging his legs over the side of the bed. "After that flight,
I think I need a bath. Wanna come along? I wouldn't mind continuing
the chat." He smiled genuinely offering only friendship.

"Sure," E'naer got up and streched. He was enjoying the view the
brownrider offered. He had no foolish notions, knowing he was
brownrider, but hey, you could always admire the scene.

He reached for his pants and pulled them on then picked up the rest of
his clothes. He wasn't embarrassed by either their nudity or E'naer's
admiration. It had taken him some time to adjust to it but in reality
it was no different that a woman's eyes. He smiled back and winked.

E'naer grinned back and tossed him his shirt, which been covered by his own.

D'ale was always an appreciative flight winner these days and walked
back toward E'naer as he caught his shirt. "Nice flight" he said again
"now lets go find that hot water."
