Description: The three lay on the beach and muse over a new face to RBW
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 12, day 3 of Turn 5
Jaylene mused about her green Reanth as she played with P'veas' hair. And
such long, fine hair. Much more manageable than her own wavy mess. The
greenrider's head was on her lap as she combed her fingers through the dark
mass. Boys always had the nicest hair! And eyelashes, it wasn't fair.
M'van lay beside them, almost dosing in the sun. She nudged him with her
foot. "A mark for your thoughts."
"Just thinking about what I want for dinner tonight."
"What you want? Or_who_you want?" She looked down at P'veas and grinned.
"What I want," repeated M'van. "But with P'veas here..."
"Hey! Just because I mentioned that nice looking bluerider that I wouldn't
mind sharing dinner with," protested the greenrider.
"Oh? And who would that be?" Jaylene teased, musing his hair over his face.
"You've seen the new transfer from Far Island right?"
"The one with all that black hair? Kind of slender? Go on!"
"That's him," P'veas said, a slow smile spreading over his features. "Bet
he's got lots of interesting stories to tell."
"Out of bed, or in?" Jaylene sat back, imagine all the interresting tales
he might just have.
"Like your bedtime stories aren't fun to hear about," M'van commented to
both of them.
"Oh, and like you don't enjoy hearing all about them!" She kicked some sand over him, grinning deviously.
"Hey!" he protested. "Do that again, and I'll have Kiloth and Lavender join
in on my side." M'van's flit gave a chirp as he heard his name, a small head poking out from /between/ with a faint popping sound. "See, someone knows when they are wanted."
Jaylene snorted. "Hey you Lavender, if you want the meat off my plate for
dinner again tonight, I suggest you stay just where you are."
"Don't encourage him."
"Ha! If you make him pelt us with sand, we'll get our lovely greens
involved." Reanth was sound asleep in a wallow on the sands, not the least
bit looking like she cared to get invovled in a sand fight. Jaylene flicked a bit of sand at the tiny green to get her attention, to no advail.
"I don't think Mavikath wants to play either," P'veas said.
Jaylene glanced at the snoring green mass and then smoothed P'veas's hair
back. "So, this new fella, you make any move yet?"
"Not yet."
"Why not?"
"Because I decided that tonight was to be the night, that's why. Time enough for him to settle in, but not net time enough for him to know where things are."
"And who people are," commented M'van. "You're just hoping that he's not
heard your reputation yet."
"Or maybe he has and can't wait!"
"In your dreams P'veas, in your dreams."
"Hmm...P'veas, how do you know he's not more in my camp, eh?" Jaylene gave
his cheek a playful pinch.
"There is only one way to find out," P'veas said as he finally got to his
feet with a grin. "A quarter mark says I end up with a new bedtime story."
"I'll double you that, throw in a night of drinking and maybe if you end up
the losser, I'll toss in my brother J'zen. He's not had a pretty boy warm
his bed in awhile." Jaylene flicked the sand off her as she too got to her
feet. "Of course we may need to ask J'zen first before selling his favours
off."
P'veas laughed. "I'm sure J'zen wouldn't mind at all."
"No, the little hussy." She nudged Reanth to wake as she thought about her
dark haired little brother. "You sticking around, or you coming with us to
get this beauty ready for his big night?" she asked M'van.
"I'm sure he can manage on his own, he's a big boy. And I do have some
patients to check on before they serve dinner."
"Well then," she said, turning to P'veas, "let's get you looking pretty for
your big night."
