Almonteo

Almonteo

"I caught a glimpse of the progress from the air. I have to say, it is
coming along nicely," the Harper smiled as he shook Corowal's hand in
greeting.

"The men are working hard on it," Corowal replied and responded to the shake.

"Are we on schedule?" Almonteo didn't know how long it would take to
build an entire Hall, but as long as his people could start moving around
the start of the new Turn, he'd call that on time.

"More or less. The fire in Red Rush hold has affected it a little, since
we had to move men there to rebuild the hold," Corowal replied. "We are
concentrating on staff quarters, they should be ready first."

"When shall we have our welcoming ceremony? When the first Harpers move
in or when the building is complete?" A few staff members didn't quite
make a Hall.

"Up to you, I suppose," Corowal said.

"Perhaps it's a bit premature yet." Aftr all, they still hadn't decided
who would come ahead and who would stay behind with the rest of the Hall.
"I promise you, though, when we get the whole Hall here, we will give you
a party the likes of which you have never seen before."

"Well, that is certainly something to wait for," The lord holder chuckled.

"Harpers never exaggerate a party," Almonteo said with a grin. "And
whether your folks are ready or not, you can bet there will be an all
female choir that will bring them to tears, they're voices are so
beautiful."

"The last one was well received, despite everything," Corowal said,
remembering the performance at his wedding.

"True. And we hope it might even tempt one or two of your Holders to
allow their daughters to craft with us." Though, Almonteo was not naive
enough to think it would be that easy.

"I'm sure you'll find few stubborn ones that will get their parents heads
turned," Corowal said.

"Daughters are good at convincing their fathers of things," the Harper
chuckled softly. "Sometimes it's the _mothers_ you really have to watch
out for. My daughter convinced me to send her to another Hold for
fostering. My wife almost took my head off with a dish."

Corowal laughed. "I have to remember that when my daughters grow up."

"Well, at least remember to tell your wife the news in a room with nothing
harder than a pillow." Although, Almonteo couldn't exactly complain.
Their angry sex afterwards had resulted in their youngest
son's birth. It was a memorable night for many reasons.

"Well, she isn't their birthmother, so perhaps she won't be so heated
about it," Corowal said.

"Trust me, it doesn't always matter. My wife thinks every girl in the
Hall is her daughter by rights." He liked the fact that she was a little
over protective of the girls. It meant nothing escaped her notice.

"She must be busy then," Corowal grinned.

"Indeed. Even more than I am at times." Though never too busy to notice
when he decided to wear the same shirt twice, or thought he could grab
breakfast later but forgot... "Women are amazing creatures, I must say."

"Oh, yes, they never ceased to amaze me," Corowal agreed.

"Well, shall we ride out and take a look at that Hall of mine?" the
Hallmaster asked, changing the subject back to the real reason why he
had made the journey.

"Of course. After you, Hallmaster," Corowal replied and got up.
