Busy, busy, busy...

Writers: Kathleen
Date Posted: 30th January 2010

Characters: Arilanna
Description: Arilanna's return to "Normal" life
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 7, day 11 of Turn 5

It was good to be back, in a somewhat normal routine again. "Routine" seemed to
be all that really kept her going lately, that and her love of massage. Riders
seemed in need of much relief when it came to sore muscles so it was busy and
that was good. Busy, busy, busy…too busy to think too much.

If it was one thing in her life at the moment that she couldn't control it was
her wayward thoughts that seemed to have a life of their own. Ari looked around
for her flit and smiled when her gaze found her curled up on a stack of linens,
feigning sleep. Shooing her away so she could prepare her table for the next
days work her thoughts once more sprang to life…

She had regained her health, strength and will to live…this she had done with
stubborn determination. Resumed her life and work with some form of normalcy,
this she had done as well for it was expected. Find joy, laughter and love in
her world?? That was another thing entirely.

Sighing deeply, Arilanna went about her business of tidying up her office (with
no help from the ever curious Sahra who was busying herself playing in the
sheets on the table just made) Ari wondered just how long this dark, gloomy
cloak of blackness would last…she sighed again for the umpteenth time, it was
exhausting this gloominess. She sat down at her desk checking on her schedule
for the following day. Thankfully it would be another busy and full day
tomorrow…too busy hopefully for more thoughts to creep in. Thoughts of her
son…thoughts of D'wrayt…missing her friend U'kaiah …Oh Shards! Enough of all
that!

Standing and stretching at the same time Arilanna shook her head roughly side to
side rubbing her eyes, hopefully dispelling her tiredness and gloominess at the
same time. Sahra chirped encouragements from her perch by the window. Ari
glanced over at her flit in thoughtful contemplation noticing that the gloomy,
cold snowiness outside matched her feelings on the inside perfectly….Perhaps
what she needed was another cup of Klah. Yes, that would help…warm her insides
up if not her heart.

Sahra alighted on Arilanna's shoulder as was their custom at the end of a day.
"Ready for home Sahra?" Ari asked her firelizard as she stroked her head.
Emerald green lizard eyes flashed brilliant hues of agreement. "Wicked little
flit" chuckled Arilanna as they made their way out of her office and down to the
kitchens in search of much needed refreshment.
