Zathris

Zathris

Zathris traversed the hallway, distracted by his thoughts. He had just finished lunch and both he and Benani had gone their separate ways to finish the day's duties. He fairly ran into the man who came around the corner rather quickly. His hand shot out to keep the slightly shorter man from falling, though really it wasn't needed. "Pardon me, I should be more careful!"

"No m'Lord," Althom said, grasping Zathris' arm to steady both of them. "It was my fault really. But in truth, I was coming to find you. The technicians have finished the rewiring in the Lady Tower. They will be turning the Tower's electricity back on shortly."

"Ah, good to know." Zathris smiled to the assistant steward. He was still not quite used to being called Lord, but knew he was going to have to get used to it sooner or later. "I trust there were no problems with the rewiring?"

"None." Though he was wondering if the Lord Holder actually wanted to ask a very different question. "That pretty little technician wasn't among them this time."

"Pretty little technician?" Zathris blinked then realised who Althom was talking about. "Isily?"

Well, it certainly seemed like the Lord Holder knew _exactly_ who he was talking about. **Not even _Journeywoman_ Isily...** Althom thought with a wry smile. "Yes, I believe that is her name. I'm sorry to say she was not among the technicians. She must be working elsewhere today." Perhaps even working on something that involved the new Lord Holder?

"It's a shame, she's a good technician - but we have a lot of good technicians here. I'm sure everything went fine without her." Not every technician was working on the tower, and Zathris knew there were other needs to attend to. Surely it wasn't that unusual for her not to be there.

"A shame indeed," Althom smiled, the rumours he had heard only seemed to be substantiated in his mind. So the Lord Holder thought 'Isily' was a good technician... Perhaps he had asked her to help him with a few private technical issues. Well, he was a man, and he wasn't blind. Zathris was a Lord Holder. Many a man in his position had taken liberties before. "She is indeed a pretty young technician."

"Isily? Zathris raised an eyebrow as he regarded the assistant steward. Why was the man taking such an interest in Isily. "Well, yes, I would agree to that statement." Althom had never mentioned her before, but Zathris hadn't ever had a topic that would easily fit Isily into the discussion. Isily had said she had gotten out of a relationship, had it been with Althom? No, it couldn't have. From the way she had talked, the fellow had been the one to instigate the breakup, and Althom seemed interested rather than the opposite. "I didn't know you knew Isily."

"Oh, no, I don't," Althom quickly assured him. "Well, I have met her, but I don't know her like _you_ know her, sir. Just... have seen her around."

Ah, but Althom wanted to know _more_ about her. Interesting. Zathris hadn't realised the young man had a crush. "She's very nice." The Lord Holder stated, a grin cracking his lips. "Very good head on her shoulders, very smart. She can be stubborn, but I find it to be a positive trait in her."

The assistant steward smiled, chuckling softly. **So, he likes them a little stubborn, eh?** That could be rather sexy. A woman who doesn't just lie there like a cold fish. A woman who'll make you work for it. "I like stubborn. It makes things interesting."

Well, that was a point in his favour. "She's smart." Zathris reiterated, "Very smart and a very good technician." That had been insinuated earlier, but it never hurt to repeat ones self. "But she's just like any woman too, likes feminine things."

"She sounds like a great catch, sir," Althom said with an approving grin. The Lord Holder sure did like to talk about his little pet's good points. He felt rather pleased that Zathris felt so comfortable talking about such personal matters. Perhaps fostering this camaraderie would also help advance him a little faster. "I like a woman who likes to dress up for you now and then." A pretty little nightgown that covered just the barest of essentials...

"Do you now?" Well, Isily didn't dress up every day, but he had seen her on occasion and knew she wasn't adverse to it. "You should talk to her some time." Perhaps Althom would gather the courage to approach Isily regarding his interests. Maybe Isily would agree and the two would court. It was a possibility. Of course, that would depend on Althom taking the first step. "Well, I must get back to work. Is there something else you needed?"

**_I_ should talk to her?** Althom thought, rather surprised. Why would the Lord Holder want _him_ to talk to her? "Uh, no, sir. That was it." Though now he would have to think about just want Zathris wanted him to do...

"Have a good day then, Althom." Zathris nods politely to the assistant steward and chuckles to himself as he makes his way through the hall once more. Well well, Althom had a crush. Who knew?
