Since Erassa had things to take back with her, they got a brownrider to provide ride home. Two passengers and the bags were too much for Aishara's green. Corowal helped Erassa to dismount and thanked the rider.
"We better check the children first, unless you want to drop off those first?" Corowal suggested.
"I think I should put these in my room," she said, her head bowed wearily as she clutched the box tighter. "I'll find space for th rest later, but I need to have my hands free." It was hard to hold her son otherwise.
"All right," Corowal replied and as a gentleman, took the other one. He didn't talk when the walked indoors.
The four oldest children were playing at something or other in the living area of the suite when Corowal and Erassa arrived, though not too quietly. Felyna sat apart with Wallia and Beleran, trying to amuse the two youngest with stuffed toys. Xebex, tired out from entertaining, was sleeping nearby.
All looked mostly in order, though perhaps things were a bit of a .. mess. Playing with Xebex had been exuberant. And of course, there was the noise. Still, no one was bleeding, and the children, were, for the most part, clean and happy. Felyna considered that a bit of an accomplishment for her first time watching them all alone, though she was thankful it had not been that long of a time.
At just that moment, Corowal's two oldest sons went to wrestling and a loud crash echoed. An "UH oh!" was heard from one of the other two children, who were watching. But the crash had startled the boys into stillness, and Felyna started to correct them. She got out only, "Boys!" then the door began to open.
Organized chaos cranked up a notch to excitement as the children realized their father, and in Beleran's case, his mother, were back. In the wake of the door opening, an instant's quiet reigned, leaving a smashed flower pot behind and the quiet snuffling of one of the youngest.
"Well, now, I wasn't away that long!" Corowal said, his arms full of children. He tousled the older one's hairs.
"So, how did things went here?" he asked.
"We played with Xebex," Felcoron piped in.
"Yes, and wore him down," Corowal said.
Felyna smiled as Corowal greeted his children. She bent to pick up Wallia and chuckled at the statement about Xebex. "Yes, and we're all quite thankful he's sleeping, the little blue thief."
She addressed his first question. "We're all still alive, except the flower pot there, so that is a good sign. Welcome home. " She added, including both Corowal and Erassa in her statment.
"Thank you. I'll clean that up. I'll just put these in my rooms," Erassa said softly, shifting the heavy box she held in her arms.
"I think we can live without the flower pot," Corowal said with serious tone and then grinned. "Thank you for minding the children, dear."
"I'm very sorry, ma'am, for inconveniencing you," the foster mother added.
Felyna's pleased smile was warm, and honest, for once. She walked over to kiss Corowal's cheek gently. "You're welcome, love. It was fun." She said, smiling at him. No harm in a little affection, even if she now suspected that is all she would _ever_ have from her new husband. She was looking at the young foster mother with new eyes, but nothing showed on her face beyond the open smile.
Then, to Erassa, "Nonsense, Erassa. It was very enjoyable. Though I certainly commend you being able to handle them all day .. every day! I would have been lost without shamelessly calling on Xebex to entertain. Even still, I was glad of time to spend with them."
She noticed the heavy box in Erassa's arms and immediately stopped rambling on. "My goodness! You must want to put that down! I'll clean up." She glanced at her husband as if to say .. why are you letting her carry that heavy box all on her own!?
Corowal wrapped his arm around her slender waist. He was aware he had some making up to do with her later today. "Emergencies like today don't crop up very often."
Erassa bobbed a curtsy quickly before excusing herself from the whole scene. It was a little much right now. She just couldn't stand witnessing all the marital bliss, not when she carried all that was left of a broken dream in her arms. "I'll just unpack this," she said softly and turned to walk back to her rooms.
Ahh, if only there _was_ marital bliss. Felyna would have, perhaps, thought so, until today. It was an act, like so many other things in their lives. And armed with her new knowledge, Felyna now knew it for the act it was, on Corowal's part anyway. That was all right. She could use that knowledge like she used every other bit of knowledge that came into her hands.
She leaned into Corowal's arm for a moment, but only a moment. The lean was enough to let him know he was, for now, forgiven. She then stepped outside of his embrace and raised an eyebrow at him. She handed Wallia to him and turned from him to begin cleaning up.
"Emergency?" She glanced after where Erassa had disappeared, and shook her head. "If that is what you want to call it, husband." A faint smile quirked at her lips. Starting a fight with him _now_ was not the right tact to take.
Yes, he would have some explaining to do, later. But it would be done in bed, where she could distract him if the conversation did not go the way she wished.
