A little encouragement goes a long way

K'reyel

K'reyel

The greenrider seemed to have done well in drills that morning. K'reyel had7
noticed it, and so had Erdenth.

}:You should tell her,:{ urged the bronze. }:Cenith, my rider wishes to
speak to yours.:{

Cenith passed the message on to her rider, and a worried frown crossed the
green riders face, as she turned to look across at the Wingleader. **Did
Erdenth say why?** she asked, worriedly.

}:My rider is pleased with yours,:{ Erdenth told the green. }:He wishes to
tell you so.:{

}:It's good news:{ Cenith informed Treya, smugly.

**It's rarely good news, when the wingleader wants to talk to you.** Treya
replied, but felt a little less hesitant as she slid down Cenith's side.
With a pat on her dragons shoulder, Treya made her way across to the
wingleaders side.

"You wanted to see me, Sir?" she asked.

"Yes Treya," the Weyrleader told her. "I wanted to compliment you on the
drills we've just been through, Erdenth was impressed with your flying."

"Oh? Oh...." she didn't know quite what to say to the unexpected
compliment, "Umm...thank you Sir. We do our best." she smiled widely.

"That's all we ever ask of any rider." Although some needed reminding of it,
or so it seemed to K'reyel.

"I'm not quite used to being given a compliment," she half confided in him,
"I thought we'd done something wrong, to tell you the truth."

"Well you haven't so you can both feel pleased with yourselves today."

She passed the compliment on to Cenith and turned to look at her lifemate,
the green stretched her neck out and preened happily. "Cenith is pleased -
as you can see. We have both been trying harder..."

"And it shows. Well done."

"Is there anything else we can do to improve?" While she was on his good
side, she may as well ask. Better to do it now, than when she wasn't - even
better than if she had just been reprimanded.

"I'd work on your timing a little. You two have improved greatly, but you
were just a tiny bit off with that last move we did."

"We'll do better next time." she nodded firmly, determination obvious. She
felt better after drills today than she had in a long time. It surprised her
how much just a little positive feedback from K'reyel helped her.

"Good, I'll watch out for that." It pleased him to see this kind of
behaviour from his wingriders. "Thank you for your time."

"Yes, Sir. And thank you for the encouragement, K'reyel." she replied, a
grin splitting her face again. She would float above the ground without aid
of Cenith for the next few candlemarks, after this conversation, she
thought.

The Weyrleader watched the pair. It seemed that a little encouragement could
take people a long way.
