Kitali watched as R'yin moved down the hall and disappeared around the
corner. So he wanted to have dinner with her - without the children.
He seemed nice. Shy, but nice. Nice was something she could handle.
She smiled a little to herself. Yes, it was time to move on, for it
did no good to her to mope. M'van had made his decision and while she
still loved him despite her anger at him, she had decided to let him
go. She still had a lot of love to give, and if he didn't want it,
then so be it. He didn't understand and she had the feeling he never
would understand. He didn't want to communicate and lack of
communication just didn't work in a relationship. So yes, it was
time.
"Of course we can have dinner later," M'van said to the male greenrider
by his side with a smile. "Kiloth will appreciate Gulbeunth's
company."
M'van's voice was certainly loud enough to be heard - louder than it
really needed to be in Kitali's opinion. She turned, arms crossed
over her chest. She hadn't seen him draw near, nor heard him until
that last announcement that certainly everyone in the hallway could
hear. Was this a game to him? Well, it wasn't one to her.
"I'll enjoy yours," there was a flirtatious tone to the greenrider's
voice. "It's been a long time M'van, too long."
Was he trying to make her jealous? Kitali had to admit she was a bit.
After all, she had given M'van a good two turns of her life. While she
was certain he had never cheated, he had seem him look. That had
bothered her. She had never returned the gesture, never even _thought_
about looking. But him...it was one of the many reasons she had felt
the need to get away. Kitali turned her back to the bluerider and
rolled her eyes just before re-entering the classroom. It was a game
to him. Nothing serious. Perhaps that was all their relationship had
been to him before. Well, she was moving on and, evidently, so was
he.
Kitali moved over to her desk, then paused just before picking up her
papers. Or was he? If he was trying to make her jealous, then perhaps
he was _not_ moving on. He was supposedly trying to make a point but
all he was doing was showing Kitali that he wasn't over her. If he
was, he wouldn't have been so obvious about what he was doing. He
_wanted_ her to feel jealous. He _wanted_ her to feel mad. In truth,
he wasn't really moving on because he was still trying got get to her
in some form or fashion. He still cared, even if it wasn't in love.
The realisation made Kitali laugh and the sound echoed in the hall
outside. Her lips ticked upward in amusement as she gathered her
things together. Well well. At least she had decided to move on with
her life, even if M'van hadn't. She wasn't going to let him get to
her. The woman clasped her things together, still smiling as she left
the room. She didn't even glance at the bluerider as she left and
ambled past, chuckling to herself.
