"You missed a spot." B'lamick said with a grin as he motioned to the firestone soot smudge on Tey's face.
"What?" Tey rubbed at the spot the young bronzerider indicated and then inspected her hand to find a dark streak across it. "Did I get it or just make it worse?"
B'lamick chuckled, "Both? Here let me try." He scrunched down the cuff of his sleeve and rubbed at the spot on her cheek. After a moment he leaned in and inspected his work. "Well, I think I got it."
"I'm going to have to trust you. Perhaps I should have scrubbed myself while I was scrubbing Isleth's muzzle."
The bronzerider shrugged it off, "It's not like you'd be the first rider to walk around covered in firestone. I'm sure I've done it several times myself."
"Perhaps more people look at me than look at you," Tey said with a teasing grin. "Though, those knots probably attract a bit of attention."
B'lamick gave a glance at the bronzerider knots on his shoulder and smiled, "They are pretty nice, but it's hard to hide with them too.
Sometimes I'm sure the only reason someone is talking to me is because of those."
"Really? Huh. I suppose it's a bit like people recognizing me as T'kanu's daughter. There's a whole long line of us and nobody remembers our names. Just 'T'kanu's daughter'."
"I find it hard to believe that people won't remember you after talking with you a bit. You have a very _distinctive_ personality." B'lamick teased.
"Oh?" Tey knew herself to be regrettably ordinary in a family that did ordinary well. "What's distinctive about it?"
B'lamick couldn't tell if she was being serious or not, "Well... you've got this straight talk about you, you always tell it like it is. You don't coddle or play coy, you've got a sharp wit and a tongue to match.
Plus you're funny and you're not afraid to put me in my place. Overall a very distinctive and attractive personality."
"Oh. Wow." Tey suspected she was blushing - not from what B'lamick said because he might have said that about any of her sisters had he known them, but because of the way he said it. It was obvious that he had given the matter some thought, and that flustered her. "What lovely things to say!"
He saw her cheeks redden and tried to brush it off with a shoulder shrug. "Well, you know, hours at a time sweepriding gives you plenty of time to assess your friendships."
"You _think_ as well as fly," Tey said in mock surprise. "That explains why you Impressed bronze."
"Oh ha ha" he said before sticking his tongue out at her. "Come on, admit it, you've just got bronze envy. If you were a boy you would have impressed a bronze for sure and you know it."
"If I'd been a boy - er. No. I can't even imagine it. I'm glad I'm a _woman_ and I'm very happy being a greenrider. You know they give us half of every 'Fall off?"
B'lamick rolled his eyes and groaned. "Trying to rub it in huh? You're only trying it because you know I like Isleth too much to comment about the small size of greens."
"Say what you like. She's proud of her size, and her _agility_."
"And her lack of stamina apparently," the bronzerider teased, reminding her of her earlier boast.
"That's an _advantage_ I tell you," Tey said, laughing.
He started to chuckle, how could he not when her face lit up so as she laughed. "If you say so greenrider, if you say so."
