K'reyel

K'reyel

"Come in," called K'reyel as he heard the knock on the door. It was his door now and he'd have to get used to that.

E'rae made his way in, but he didn't sit until the Weyrleader asked him to. "Sir." He nodded his head and looked about the office. Not much had changed yet.

"Take a seat Bluerider."

E'rae did as he was asked, allowing his eyes to settle on K'reyel. He was a bluerider and he knew his place.
He couldn't help but wonder if it might be changing with the tides, so to speak.

"How do you think you've been doing since your last review?" K'reyel's tone was conversational. The record that was on the hide in front of him did not contain any misdemeanours, or notes of reprimands made, which meant that this review was likely to be one of the easier ones.

"Honestly..apart from a few minor threadscores, I'd say the same as before." Of course not all of those scores had been due to his negligence, but he was sure the Weyrleader knew that fact. E'rae attended everything he was required to and he followed orders.
He didn't go beyond what he had to do, he simply towed the line.

"And the newer drill patterns we've introduced in the last turn," continued K'reyel. "How do you and," he paused for a moment as Erdenth supplied the name of the blue, "...Leith feel that you have coped with them?"

"Well Leith didn't know what to do at first, but after practicing, he's got them down." Of course, E'rae had been the same way. He loved routines, so it was hard to change, though once he had gotten used to the new routine, he had embraced it.

"And using them in fall?" K'reyel made notes on a slate for later copying to a permanent hide record, and neater as well he thought with a quick glance at it.

"After the first few falls, he fell into the rhythm."
That was usual for the blue though, and was probably noted in the file somewhere. "I'm confident sir, that we've been fine since then."

"Good, and one last question. Are you happy flying in your half of the fall?"

Since they flew the last half, it made it easier in some respects. They at least had some clue about the weather patterns before they went up. "Aye sir, though of course sometimes it's harder than others."

"I understand." And some falls were harder, or trickier than others. It went with being a rider.
"That'll be all then E'rae, you're dismissed."

The bluerider got up and nodded to his Wingleader, then headed out. He was glad that was over with, though he had expected it to go smoothly.
