The harper couldn't help but breathe a little easier. If he was willing to spend some time with the children _and_ her, maybe allKitali clutched her children's hands, the basket she had packed dangling on her left elbow. Lidrin and Talvan were cheerful and Kitali was doing her best to be optimistic, but doubt was creeping up and settling. M'van had barely spoken to her. Why, oh why did she think he would be up for this? Maybe with just the children, yes, but with her coming?
Well, she had to try. If he absolutely refused, perhaps he would be willing to take the boys by himself. She hoped it wouldn't come to that though.
The trio made their way up to his weyr. Beryl had found him there and let her pet know. She was glad. If he was going to refuse her, she would rather it be in private as opposed to an audience.
"M'van?" She called out softly, though the boys let out a squeal of "DADDY" that echoed sharply, causing Kitali to wince.
The squeal was enough to get the bluerider's attention, the door opened and he knelt down to get a hug from both of the boys.
Both of the boys pounced upon him as Kitali watched, a smile cracking her lips. "Hello M'van." She said softly when the children's laughter had died down.
"Hello," he replied. "What brings you here today?"
Well, at least he hadn't told her to go away. That was progress, right? "Well the boys have been wanting to go on a picnic. We were going to go down to the weyrlake and I thought...well, I thought maybe you would like to come. I know the children want you to." _She_
wanted him to.
"Do you?" He asked the boys, waiting to see what their reaction would be.
Kitali paused. Would he say no if he knew that she wanted him? "Yes."
She finally responded. If he refused to go, maybe he would be willing to take the children without her. They were so looking forward to the picnic, she would hate to spoil it for them.
"Talvan, Lidrin, do you want Daddy to come too?" he asked.
"'es." Came Talvan's reply. Lidrin jumped up and down and shouted 'YEAH!'.
Kitali couldn't help but smile. "I guess that makes three of us."
"No, that makes four of us," he corrected.
The harper couldn't help but breathe a little easier. If he was willing to spend some time with the children _and_ her, maybe all wasn't lost. Her smile grew. "Then, shall we?"
"Lets," he said. "How can I let the children down?"
Kat turned her face away at that comment. He had asked if _she_ wanted him to go, but evidently the only reason he was willing was because of the children. Kitali thought for a moment about offering to just give him the basket and the boys and letting him alone, but pushed aside that idea. If she ran away from every bump, she would never progress.
Maybe this would give them a chance to talk. "Come on then.", she stated softly, taking a small hand in each one of her own. She turned
