Aishara

Aishara

It was restday and Aishara found herself idle. So, she decided to go and see her father. She hadn't seen him since her impression, and suddenly noticed that she missed him. She could have visited her anytime after her graduation to the fighting wing but hadn't. Now she felt guilty about it.

Aishara directed Ayumith to land on spot she wouldn't disturb anyone or spook any beasts.
Then she set out to find Aivorn.

She walked confidently, knowing she looked good on tight dragonrider's hides. No wonder she turned heads. A beastcrafter she recognized walked past and whistled after her.
"Jordir! If my father sees you looking me like that, he'll rip your eyes out," she called to him.

"Aishara? Is that you? I didn't recognize you," the journeyman apologized.

"No harm done. It's kind of flattering you know. Where's my pa?"
The journeyman gave her the directions.

Aivorn was working with young runner stallion despite it being a restday.
The runner was running a circle on the rope; Aivorn was holding the other end. Aishara climbed to sit on the fence. "Is that Iron Dawn?" she asked.

"Yes he is."

"Shouldn't he be trained by now?"

"Should, but he threw down an apprentice last sevenday. He's being stubborn. Nice to see you, Aishara."

"You too, da."

Aivorn released the runner, who ran to the other end of the paddock, bucking on the way.
He went to the fence and pulled Aishara to a big bear-hug.
"I've missed you, little one."

"I've missed you too, da," Aishara said, sounding tear choked. "And you're crushing my ribs."

"Sorry," Aivorn released her. "You look well, little one. You're matured,"
he remarked after a long moment of studying her.

"You look well too," Aishara said, but deep down she thought that he looked older, somehow more sad and lonelier. She really should visit him more often. She was now full wingrider and could travel at will. Her father had no one now that she had moved away. His wife had died when she was born. Perhaps she could convince him to move to Dolphin Cove weyr, where rest of their kin lived too.
