K'mai

K'mai

Sh'vair stopped scrubbing Nidogath's hide and reached over to feel his bicep. **Wow! My arms are getting bigger!**

}:My arms got bigger too,:{ the blue pointed out, not quite finding that fact as remarkable as his rider.

**Yes, but your whole body is getting bigger. I'm talking about my muscles. Shards, look! I actually _have_ a muscle there!** He stretched his arm out and felt the back of it. **I have triceps too!**

His lifemate turned his head to look at just what it was his rider found so amazing. }:You look the same to me. But if it makes you happy, than I am happy.:{
**I _am_ happy!** Sh'vair grinned, curling his arm once more and feeling the hard buldge the movement formed. **I look more like a man now!**

"I think an effort like that is best used on something _other_ than a dragon," a voice said behind him.

Sh'vair dropped his arms guiltily and spun around. "K'mai! Hello! I'm sorry, I didn't see you. I was just... I was just bathing Nidogath."

K'mai put his hand on his chin. "What an interesting way to wash a dragon."

"Well, I _was_ washing Nidogath..." Sh'vair answered guiltily. He knew he had been caught. "Are you down here to bathe Sebeth?"

"Yep, just finished. That blue lump is busy flirting. I thought I'd do the same," he grinned.

Sh'vair could feel a blush creep into his face. "Oh yeah? Is that why you came over?" Shards, he hoped his voice sounded as manly as his body was looking.

"Uh huh," K'mai said. "You caught my attention with all that ... dragon washing you were doing."

**He noticed me!** Sh'vair beamed.

}:Of course he noticed you. Your getting bigger,:{ Nidogath agreed.

"I suppose I do have a unique style," the young bluerider flirted shyly.

"Would you like to demonstrate it for me? I'd like to get a better view." K'mai's eyes flicked over Sh'vair's body.

The way K'mai looked at him made Sh'vair's heart quicken. He swallowed hard as he mustered his confidence. "On Nidogath? Or on you?"

K'mai smiled. "On me would be nice."

Sh'vair could just imagine scrubbing K'mai's back, running his fingers along those big, strong shoulders, down those muscular arms, across his masculine chest... He could feel his face flush and his body start to want to react to the images running through his head. "I... I... have to finish Nidogath..."

"I could help, if you'd like," K'mai offered.

And, after Nidogath was done, they could go a bathing pool... and wash each other... and things would happen... wonderful things... with _K'mai_... Excitement turned to panicked insecurity. Shards, K'mai would probably be so good at everything, and Sh'vair... he just knew he'd be all flustered and clumsy and look like a sharding fool! And then K'mai would hate him! And every time he saw K'mai afterwards he'd remember his shame and just want to die! "Its... its ok, I can do it, really. Thanks though. Another time maybe? Really, I can't... I mean, I can't ask you to help. I can do it. Really. Myself. Alone. But thanks. Really."

"Is that nerves talking?" K'mai asked. "Or am I really that unappealing?"

"Nerves? No nerves," Sh'vair said plastering a smile on his face. "Just, you must be so busy, and Nidogath is just really picky..."

K'mai's eyebrow lifted. "Like dragon, like rider?" he teased. "I bet you like dark hair better. Maybe someone a little taller ..."

"No no no," the younger rider assured him quickly. "You're my type. Not that I mean _you_ are my type. Well... you are. But you know... I have to wash my dragon."

The eyebrow stayed up. "And what about when you're done?"

"It's just..." Shards. "It's _you_, K'mai! You're just... I don't know... You're just you, ok?"

"Who else would I be?" He crossed his arms, smiling slightly.

Sh'vair frowned slightly. "Now you're just making fun of me."

"Maybe you can explain what you mean a little better."

This was like a nightmare. K'mai found him _amusing_. Just a funny little kid. Sh'vair just wanted to duck his head under the water and forget the bluerider had ever walked over. "I just mean I need to wash my dragon now, ok?"

"Do you hear that, Sebeth? I just got _rejected_!" K'mai sighed. "I guess I'll have to settle for someone else."

That actually kind of hurt. "Well, maybe if you hadn't been so pushy! Go ahead and find someone else. I don't care." Sh'vair knew only too well K'mai would easily find someone - someone with lots more confidence and lots fewer pimples no doubt.

"You're being terribly difficult, you know." K'mai said in a calm tone. Sh'vair felt like he was being brought to task by his Harper class teacher when he used that tone. "And you're being terribly thick, so why don't you go away and leave me alone." It was humiliating and distressing and he wanted nothing more than to run off to some secret corner and cry. Genuine annoyance crossed K'mai's face for a moment. Then he shrugged.
"I guess I can't always get what I want. Have a good day, Sh'vair."

"Thank you, you too." K'mai would probably go off and find some dashing, strong, manly bluerider to help scrub in the bathing pool to brighten his day, no doubt. Sh'vair spun around and started scrubbing Nidogath's hide hoping to hide his tears until he could bawl in peace.
