Description: Laram and Jenasie talk about the time of chores that one could be doing for the rest of their life.
Location: Dolphin Hall
Date: month 4, day 21 of Turn 4

She stood at the edge of the dock, still wet from her swim, thankfully her towel wasn't drenched this time, having remembered the advice of her Hallsecond it was safely tucked away out of splash distance from the cheeky dolphins that where playing in the water in front of her. Her own dolphin partner was easy to spot swimming with the others, then again something like that came from spending time with them; she gave her head a shake as they began to slash more. "Jen Play more?" Zarias questioned in her usual tone that was undeniably childish. Jenasie placed one hand on her hip. "I don't know are you going to play fair?" she questioned them, knowing they wouldn't understand or listen. "Jen Play !" the dolphin demanded bobbing her head up and down in the water.

Chino her brown firelizard on the other hand sat on her shoulder and gave a small trill. "Honestly," she muttered seemingly exasperated, "I don't know which of the pair of you is more demanding!" while it had started out like a complaint it finished in a joking tone, she wouldn't change it for the world after all.

Laram noticed the girl talking to her dolphin partner as he sat cross-legged on the dock a ways down, playing with Numbweed. Numbweed suddenly noticed that there was another firelizard near him and took off from Laram's shoulder to go chitter and circle around this potential playmate. "Numbweed! Don't harass people!" Laram called over to his little brown as he stood up. Once he was closer, he recognized Journeyman Jenasie and sent a small smile her way. "Hello Journeywoman Jenasie, I apologize for Numbweed. He just likes to find others to play with."

Chino gave a trill back at the new arrival and Jenasie noticed the second brown flit, "Friend of yours?" she asked her firelizard who seemed happy to go off and play. She turned at the sound of the voice behind her and noticed the Senior Apprentice that was striding up to her, Laram the name came to mind easily and she flashed him a smile. "Don't worry about it Laram, Chino spends a lot of his time finding people to harass people too, especially when I'm trying to teach" she said and rolled her eyes in the general direction the two where playing in. However she turned back to Laram "How have things been going for you?" she asked.

"Fairly well actually. Just studying and improving my skills in rescue and salvage," Laram replied, watching Numbweed fly off with Chino.

At that the dolphineer smiled again, rescue was her speciality as a dolphineer and something she enjoyed doing because it meant that she was able to help people. "Jen help people good!" was a sudden interruption from beside them, in the water. Jenasie had not moved from her place on the docks when Laram had come over, so Zarias was still nearby, lazy circling the docks waiting for Jen to come play again. holding back a chuckle she looked at her dolphin partner.

"Laram, this is Zarias" She introduced the pair to each other. "Laram play?" the dolphin asked looking at him. "You'll have to forgive her, she would have heard the word rescue and would have guessed what we were talking about." Jenasie explained. "Laram help people?" the dolphin butted in again, it was clear she was interested in what the two humans were talking about, especially because it involved her and her kin.

Laram smiled at the dolphin. "Hello Zarias. Yes, I do help people, but I'm still working on learning just how to help them." He looked over at Jenasie. "Does Zarias usually want to play with everyone?"

"Laram study hard, help people" Zarias stated with a determined bob of her head. Jenasie could only smile "When she's after the attention, yes" was the reply as she looked at her dolphin partner and crouched down to give he head a rub. Zarias however moved to one side, offering her pectoral fin to Jenasie and the dolphineer complied by scratching it, until the dolphin rolled over in the water and presented her belly for a rub. "Sometimes I think she can be just as demanding as a flit" She joked looking at Laram as she rubbed the dolphin's belly.

Laram laughed and rubbed Zarias' belly. "Thanks for the advice Zarias, I'll remember that." He turned to Jenasie. "How long have you and Zarias been bonded?"

She leaned back on the dock as Laram took over the so called task of giving a belly rub, deciding she had enough Zarias flipped right way up again. "Laram and Jen come play soon" she said bobbing her head some more, before she moved back to the main pod, who from the looks of things were heading off to eat. "Hmm..." There was a faint pause as dolphineer had to think about it "Just over five turns now" was her reply as she looked over at him.

"That's great," Laram said and sighed enviously. "I wish I had a dolphin partner." Numbweed suddenly came over and landed on Laram's shoulder, rubbing his head on Laram's cheek and sending thoughts of love to him. "It's okay Numbweed, I know I have you," Laram said and stroked the little flit's brown head.

Chino alighted Jenasie's shoulder, having followed Numbweed back over "You will Laram, and then both you and Numbweed will have a new friend"

Laram sent a small smile over to Jenasie. "That's true. At least the other dolphins will play with Numbweed and myself when we go out in the sea."

"That they will" was her reply "You might find yourself giving dolphin belly rubs for the rest of your life" She added in a mock serious tone but it broke into a smile "Not that's a bad thing"

Laram grinned back. "I agree! I don't have a problem doing that at all."

Chino gave another chirp and snapped his little jaws closed near Jenasie's ear, before giving a hungry creel. The Dolphineer laughed "Speaking of things one could be doing for the rest of their life, keeping a firelizard full is one of them"

Laram grinned back. "Well, if you want some company, Numbweed is sending me images of meat, so he must be hungry too." Numbweed joined Chino's hungry creeling and Laram rolled his eyes. "Well, shall we?"

"Why not?" Was the half question back as the two of them headed back to the Hall, in search of meat, to fill the bellies of their firelizards.
