Description: U'kaiah goes with Arilanna to her checkup.

Date: month 2, day 3 of Turn 4
"I really appreciate you coming with me for my checkup. I know it's silly, but I hate coming to these by myself." Arilanna explained, as she laid down on the exam table. "I don't mind. In fact, I have to say I'm curious. I've never been to one of these before." Felika had hopes of mending her relationship with J'klin at first, and once it had become apparent that would never be, U'kaiah was more a painful reminder than a help.
Arilanna tried to keep herself from being nervous, "Well they really aren't that interesting usually. That's the way you want them actually. Nice and normal is always what you want to hear." she explained with a weak grin. "Good. Show me one of the boring ones then," he smiled as he sat down beside her. "What happens next?"
"We wait... Shedia seemed to have her hands full with, oh!" Arilanna tried to explain, but was interrupted by a strong kick from the baby. Her hand flew to her stomach and she grinned at her friend. "He woke up I guess." "You're hoping for a boy?" the bronzerider asked, catching the male pronoun she chose to use.
She shrugged, "D'wrayt wants a boy, and he's certainly active enough. I guess I just started figuring it was a boy." She felt another kick and looked at U'kaiah with raised brows, "Do you want to feel?"
The offer caught him a little by surprise. "Oh. Sure. Where?"
Arilanna lifted her shirt up enough to expose her belly and took U'kaiah's hand, guiding it to a lower left position, "There. I think that's his foot. Just wait a minute, he's sneaky and holds still when I try and show him off."
The bronzerider chuckled. "Do you think he really knows I'm even here?"
She snorted and poked her belly, "Do you see him moving now? No... I told you, sneaky."
"If I'm really quiet, will he think I went away?"
She laughed, enjoying being able to share her experience with somebody else. She once again reflected on how isolated she had made herself recently. "Probably, just keep your hand still and he'll forget about it. I don't think the talking really matters." "So I should just keep my hand here?" He just wanted to be sure she didn't mind a man touching her.
"Yup, right there." she affirmed. She felt completely comfortable with U'kaiah, but she briefly wondered if having this intimate contact with her was making him uneasy.
There that sneaky boy was... "There, did you feel it? Oh, and there again." Arilanna grinned as she felt the kicks directly under U'kaiah's resting hand. U'kaiah grinned along with her. "It is amazing, isn't it? That's a _foot_ inside you? Just what does that feel like when he does that? Does it hurt you?" Arilanna thought a moment, it was such an unusual feeling, really too hard to explain, "I don't know, it's kind of a mix of when your stomach rumbles when your hungry and when somebody pushes you from the outside I guess. It's a bad explanation though, because it really just feels like a baby is kicking you!" she laughed. "And it doesn't exactly hurt, but sometimes it can be uncomfortable depending on where he is."
She tucked her shirt up a little higher and took his other hand, placing it up by her ribs on the opposite side, "And he's punching over here now." "So his foot is here and his hand is there?" U'kaiah asked, thoroughly amazed. "I can't believe you can carry a whole _person_ inside you." "So you thought we carried them someplace else?" Arilanna teased, laughing again. She couldn't believe how happy she was right now, her burden felt so much lighter when she had somebody to share it with her.
He grinned up at her. "No, of course not. But you know, from far away it just looks like a large... bump. There's nothing that particularly would say to you 'A tiny human is in here!'"
Arilanna felt another little punch kick combo and watched U'kaiah's face light up again. "I'll have to remember to write on my tunic 'Tiny Human Here' with an arrow so people will know I'm just not fat." The bronzerider laughed. "I don't think you are in any danger of that.
You are most obviously pregnant."
