Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 11, day 20 of Turn 3

Maiz had her mind set and she was on a mission. Though she thought she was at a bit of a disadvantage, since she was so new she didn't really know anyone in the Weyr. The only other female she knew here was Gilsha. Hoping the other greenrider would be of some help, Maiz sought her out. "Maiz," the greenrider smiled as she looked up at the young woman. "Are you having a late dinner too? Pali _insisted_ that she feed and bathe before I got mine."

"I came for a cup of klah. And actually, there's something I was hoping you would help me with," Maiz decided to jump right in. "I've decided that the only way to get over my thing with men is to jump back in.
So I need to find one who's single to, well... seduce I guess."

"Seduce, eh?" Gilsha asked, hiding a smile behind her own mug. "This sounds serious."

The younger woman straightened her shoulders. "I have to at least try. I'm not certain I can pull it off, but I have to see. It'll give me a lot of confidence if I can manage it." That was true- her confidence could certainly use a boost. And what man didn't want to be seduced? If she happened to get pregnant in the process... well, no harm done, right?

"All right, well, what kind of a man are you looking for, then?" Gilsha hadn't gotten to know _everyone_
yet, but she was pretty good with names and faces and remembering little details about people.

"Someone... I don't know," she confessed. "I guess someone who I'm attracted to. But he has to be nice and not attached to anyone already."

"Well, I can tell you what I know..." the greenrider said as she sat a little taller to look around the room. "Ah, that guy there with the light brown hair, the shorter one. His name is S'hras, and he rides a blue named Syleth. He was one of the first people to come up and introduce himself to me. He's very friendly, and he has the most beautiful green eyes and smile. He's weyrbred, and not currently attached to anyone, but he has just finished a relationship with a woman for more than four turns, so he isn't the type to go for just anyone."

Maiz looked at the bluerider for a moment. "I'm not certain I'm up to that much of a challenge. He is cute though."

"Well, what about T'nac?" Gilsha said, pointing to a rather tall bronzerider standing at the snack table. "He was Searched from a craft Hall and seems rather shy and reserved, but kind of sweet." "Maybe. Do you know anything more about him?" Maiz wasn't certain that shy would work well for her... but then, it might work very well. Her friend searched her brain for anything she knew about the reserved bronzerider. "He's a Senior Journeyman Tanner. A cobbler, and still practicing. His family have been Tanners for generations, apparently, and they're very proud of that fact. And he was severely injured in the first Fall of the Pass and almost died. You can see the Threadscar on his chest when he takes his tunic off."

Maiz was silent for a few minutes, thinking. "I don't know," she confessed. "I thought this would be so much easier than this is. I mean, whats hard about picking a guy? Most women do it all the time... but I'm just not sure!"

"Well, you're just looking for a guy to _seduce_
right? I mean, its not like you are asking him to be _weyrmated_ to you or anything," Gilsha chuckled. "All right just listen to the options, look them over, think about it and in the end just go with your gut instinct. I mean, you can't go wrong with either S'hras or T'nac. And there are plenty of other nice guys here, like... like..." She looked around the room and found another familiar face. A stocky brownrider with dark hair and eyes. "Like L'tenan. He's a _wonderful_ guy. If it weren't for the fact that he reminds me of a member of my family, I would certainly go for him. He's smart, witty, slightly arrogant, but not in a really bad way. Perhaps confident is a better word. He would also be a good match for you think. Any of those guys would."

"Okay, gut instinct." Maiz closed her eyes, trying to concentrate on how she felt about each of the men rather than logic. "I think... I think T'nac is the one I like best."

"Well, then, there you go," Gilsha smiled and gave the young woman's shoulder a quick squeeze. "Here, if you like I'll even introduce you."

Of course, now that the moment to meet the guy was here Maiz was less than certain. Everything had seemed so easy in her head... but now it was so real!
Deciding it was best to simply take the plunge, she nodded. "Yes, let's go meet him."

"Go to him? No no no. That's not the way to do it. I'll have him come to us, that way when I leave he has no choice but to stay and talk to you," the more experienced rider said with a wink. "T'nac!" she called, waving the bronzerider over.
