K'sedel

K'sedel

J'klin wondered as he approached his new Weyrleader's door, what the man was like. He had put in a request to transfer out of Dragonsfall after his fight with U'kaiah, and this man had been able to see past the fight and accept him. He was determined to prove himself in this first meeting.

Shoving the last set of hides to one side, K'sedel hoped fervently that that was it for the day, he just wanted to go and see Ciara. Their child's birth would be soon enough and there still seemed to be a lot to do. Mostly he wanted to discuss finding foster parents with her, but that thought was interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Sir." he said simply as he entered the room. He extended his hand, "J'klin from Dragonsfall, I'm the new transfer." It felt strange to be anything _new_, he'd been a dragonrider for over ten turns, and always at Dragonsfall too.

"Take a seat." K'sedel regarded the brownrider for a moment. "Do you have your transfer papers?" he asked. Of course he knew the basics, that had come with the original request, but it was always good to see and hear it from the rider in question.

J'klin passed them over. "I wanted to thank you for accepting my transfer. I know it was under difficult circumstances, but I want you to know I really appreciate the chance.

"I hope you do," was the reply. He scanned them quickly, sure that D'wrayt would have things well in order. "I want you to know that I will not tolerate such behavior here. River Bluff is a calm, steady place with a good reputation in the area, I'd like that upheld."

"Absolutely." J'klin nodded quickly, "I came here to start over, to get my life back on track and in order. I won't be a problem."

"Then hopefully I won't be seeing you here for disciplinary offenses."
K'sedel paused a moment, "You'll be in my wing, Rapids wing. Your wing schedule is here," he handed over a hide. "You can address any questions to the Wingsecond."

"Yes, sir." he said looking over the hide. He was surprised to be in the Weyrleaders wing, and wondered if it was due to his many years of stable flying or his disciplinary problem. Probably the latter he decided, but hoped for the best.

"You'll need to see the Headwoman for your weyr assignment, and It's also like you to check in with the healers and dragonhealers for physicals for both you and your brown."

J'klin nodded, "Will do, and I should tell you, I've been seeing a mindhealer about my anger issues, and I'll continue to do so at least for awhile here too." It wasn't something he was particularly proud of, but as his Wingleader he felt he should know.

"I hope that will help you handle things. Let me know when your appointments are, and I'll make sure that your duties are scheduled around them."

He hoped that wouldn't be necessary and that he could schedule them around his duties, but he hadn't found a mindhealer here yet, so he didn't say anything more about it. "So... the Headwoman and the healers today... and can I join the wing tomorrow?"

K'sedel nodded. "You'll join us for drills, and once you're up to speed we'll look at getting you into a fall." "Great," J'klin had been grounded after the fight, and Nimyth had been very unhappy about not being allowed to fly against Thread. "And thank you again for the opportunity to join your Weyr, I really do appreciate it." "Treat this as a second chance, and use it to start again," advised K'sedel.

J'klin nodded and shook his new Weyrleader's hand, "I will sir."
