Location: Amber Hills Hold
Date: month 12, day 25 of Turn 3

Lymria entered the steward's office. "Is Steward Cyrek here?" she asked from one of the understewards.

"No, I'm sorry he's not. Can I help you?" Shadux asked, setting down the file he was delivering to the Steward.

"I wanted to ask him if he's gotten any reply from technicians hall, about Torgny's relatives. I've applied to become his fostermother, since his parents died in the earthquake," Lymria explained.

"Torgny? That is the name of a child from Amythest Cliff?" Shadux asked as he walked over to another file.

"Yes," Lymria replied. "T-o-r-g-n-y is it?" he asked, running a finger along the list. "Young boy? Under the temporary care of Lymria. I assume that's you?"

"Yep, that's me," Lymria smiled. "It was thought his family could be contacted through the Technician's Hall..." He set down that file and searched for another. "And, yes... It seems there was some kind of correspondence with their family... just let me find it."

"Take your time...what is your name by the way, sir?" Lymria said. "I'm Shadux. I'm an assistant steward from here," he said as he flipped through pages of letters that had been sent in regards to inquiries about refugees. "Ah, Torgny. Here we go." Shadux scanned the page thoughtfully. "It sounds as if the lad's family is all located up north. His grandfather came down south with his father, and the rest of the family is still located up at the northern Hall."

"And do they want to take him?" Lymria asked nervously. Lyale's fosterhood was already cleared, her aunt had enough in her own children and had been happy when someone else had volunteered to take Lyale. Shadux shook his head. "Not unless there is no other choice," he said rather sadly. How terrible to be a child no one in the family wants. "They said that they were not even aware there was a child. There had been some sort of rift in the family, and for the child's sake as well as theirs, they feel its best to keep that in the past and let it die."

"Poor Torgny," Lymria sighed. "But that means I can keep him?" she brightened. She really liked the boy. "It seems that way," Shadux nodded. "Of course, you will need to talk to Cyrek to be _sure_, I am not authorized to give any sort of permission. But it does seem that no one else wishes to claim him, and he will be in need of a good home."

Lymria nodded. "I will talk with Cyrek when he's around." "Have you accommodation that can fit you all comfortably?"

"Yes, we were moved to a cozy little cot after my last discussion with the steward. It even has room for fosterling or two more." "That will come in handy," Shadux nodded. "It sounds as though you're all set then."

"I am, this place is actually starting to feel like home," Lymria said.
** And has good looking men,** she mused in her thoughts.

"Well, we are doing our best to help you all feel at home here," the young smiled. "If there is anything you need, be sure to ask the Headwoman, or if you see me, feel free to let me know."

"I will, meanwhile, thank you for the information," Lymria replied. She was wondering what excuses could take her to meet him again.
