He'd heard what happened. Of course, he'd heard what happened. Nazoth's distress was something very few of the dragons had missed and honestly, it pissed S'yen off for multiple reasons. None of which he was going to go into. Yet. "Sharding dimglow," he muttered as he stalked towards M'sar's bunk in the Barracks. "Stupid, sharding, why the feck did a dragon pick him idiot. He better not be sleeping or something."
M'sar was sulking on his bed and looked up at the unexpected visitor. He took in S'yen's dark scowl and said, "Well that's a face."
"It still looks better than yours," S'yen retorted. "You stupid idiot. I _told_ you not to endanger Nazoth like that! But noooooo, you can't keep your hand out of your pants or someone else's." He crossed his arms defensively over his chest. "So, don't lie to me and say that it was worth it because I know it wasn't. Who did you con into it?"
M'sar shrugged a shoulder. "Some Candidate. Nazoth was sleeping so I thought it would be fine. He's not nervous or insecure or anything like that so I didn't think he would . . ." Panic. Nazoth had panicked and it made M'sar's stomach twist with guilt.
"You could have stopped your sentence right there at you 'didn't think'," S'yen said sharply. "Because you didn't. You were warned, multiple times, and you still had to get your dick wet. You deserve all of the panic and guilt that you got from that because Nazoth certainly didn't deserve having to go through that."
"And you think it's your job to scold me?" M'sar glared, eager to embrace the anger because it was easier to handle than the guilt. "You ain't a weyrlingmaster."
"And? I don't need to be a Weyrlingmaster to give you a thrashing."
"Oh?" M'sar drew himself up. "You think you can take me?" A good brawl would help relieve some of his frustration.
"Bitch, please," S'yen said when M'sar puffed up. "I'm not going to fight you. Just call you an idiot in several different words. I'm not here to get in trouble with the Weyrlingmasters, though if you want to subject yourself to their wrath again, go ahead and throw that punch."
"Why, so you can go tattle on me? Bet you would, since you love rules so much now." M'sar really did want to punch his smug stupid face. Or kiss him. **No, absolutely not.** He never wanted to do anything to make Nazoth that scared and confused again.
He looked over at the huge brown sprawled across his couch to make sure he was still deeply asleep. Despite their argument and M'sar's anger, there was no sign of Nazoth waking.
"Contrary to belief, I actually don't particularly like rules or authority. Gets in the way of the fun. Minus a few of the rules that in place for a really good reason. And now you see exactly why." With his arms still crossed over his slim chest, S'yen jerked his chin over at the sleeping dragon. "So do right by him, for him, you dumb herdbeast. Keep your stupid head down and get through training and then you can bang everyone that's willing to get naked for you."
"Yeah, I'm gonna . . ." M'sar glanced at Nazoth again before turning back to S'yen. "Hold you down and take you so hard."
S'yen's laugh was sharp, derisive. "That's what you think. And no, don't you turn this into some fucked up foreplay. I'm not here to be your toy. You don't get that after what you did." Then, to his dragon, he said, **Jenith, wake Nazoth up. I don't want M'sar thinking he can just do whatever he wants again just because his stupid dragon is asleep.**
Jenith was uncertain but he did as S'yen asked. }: Wake up, Nazoth. My rider is speaking with yours. :{
The brown made a sleepy grunt. }:I want to sleep.:{ Then he remembered waking up and M'sar's mind being far away from him and full of confusing things. He jolted awake. }:M'sar?:{
**I'm here!** M'sar leapt off his bed and went to his dragon. **I'm right here.** That awful, twisting guilt filled him again as he pet Nazoth soothingly.
S'yen watched M'sar rush to soothe Nazoth. Even though there was a sliver of empathy felt from the bluerider, it barely gentled his tone as he said, "Remember that moment. What it nearly cost you. And don't be so stupid again."
"Fuck you," M'sar said as he hugged his dragon.
"You wish," S'yen replied but it had no bite to it, only boredom. Like it was a taunt they used at each other often. "At least Nazoth has some brains in that big brawny body. Maybe next time he'll just sit on you."
"I won't hurt him like that again," M'sar said quietly.
"See that you don't, you fecking idiot," S'yen said. He uncrossed his arms as he said, "Jenith, I'm ready to be picked up now. We've got work to do in the Infirmary."
"Fuck you," M'sar repeated. He didn't need S'yen coming here to scold him or rub it in. M'sar hated a lot of things right now, including the fact that S'yen had been right.
