Location: Harper Hall

D'cal checked the weyr number on the slip of paper he had once more before knocking on the door. He was getting rather sick of delivery duty, but until he actually entered the fighting wing, besides barking orders at weyrlings, it seemed to be all he was used for. The bluerider couldn't complain too much. It got him out of the Weyr with Aosorath,
and they had seen more of Pern than he had ever dreamed he would see.
Of course, most of it was from the air or from courtyards, but it was a start.
A woman in early forties opened the door. She was wearing only a bath robe, a loosely tied one. "Well, hello there, handsome, how can I help you?" she asked, eyeing the weyrling up and down with kind of hungry look in her eyes.
"Ailewyn, who is it?" Eilomar called from inside.
"Ah, is Master Eilomar at home?" D'cal asked, trying not to notice that the woman at the door had turned just enough to give him an excellent hint as to what the robe was barely covering.
"Unfortunately, he is," Ailewyn replied and let him in.
Eilomar came to see what was going on and gave his wife a disgusted look. "Shells, woman, cover yourself."
"Yes?" the question was directed to D'cal.
"Excuse me, sir, but I have a package for you from Master Wiltek. He asked that I deliver it into your hands directly and wait for a reply."
The bluerider did his best not to notice as the harper's wife stood behind him and adjusted her robe rather obviously.
"Aaah, yes, I've been expecting it," Eilomar brightened. He took the package. "Can you wait for the reply?" he asked.
"Yes of course," D'cal nodded.
Eilomar went to the next room, to open the package and to write his reply. Ailewyn used the opportunity. "So, what's your name, stud?" she asked with a sultry voice.
"Um... I'm sorry?" D'cal asked, confused more by her tone of voice than the question.
"You're name, handsome, I asked your name. Mine's Ailewyn," she said and stroked his face with her fingers.
"D'cal, rider of blue Aosorath," he replied formally, taking a quick step back to shy away from her fingers.
"Come now, don't be shy," she crept closer again.
His eyes darted towards the other room and he took another slight step back. "Um... I'm just waiting for your husband to finish..."
"You could come back when he's not home," Ailewyn suggested. "I'm just a poor neglected wife and I need some cheering up."
"Ah, well, I don't know if your husband would like that," D'cal said with a nervous chuckle. He could feel the heat rising in his face.
The woman snorted. "Forget him, he is fat, impotent idiot."
"Well, I'm sorry ma'am, but I'm... rather busy most days." Shards, but did she have to stand so close? He took another step back and found himself bumping into a table.
Eilomar came back with a letter. "Here's the reply." He stopped to look the scene, and frowned. "What's going on here?" he asked.
"Nothing, I was just keeping him company while he waited," Ailewyn replied innocently. Like she just hadn't done some sexual harassment on poor young bluerider.
"Is your letter ready, sir? I would be more than happy to take it now," D'cal said with a relieved smile.
"Here it's and here's something for your efforts," Eilomar replied and give him the letter and small coin.
"Sir, I'm only doing my duty. I cannot accept that." D'cal looked at the coin in his hand. Even if he _could_ accept the payment, it didn't fail to escape his notice that a runner carrying a message within the
same Hold would have been paid as much, much less half way across the continent. The bluerider couldn't wait to get away from the cheap minded harper and his even more scandalous wife.
"Fine, give it back to me then," Eilomar replied.
The bluerider held out the coin, not wanting anything from this man more than to be away from him, and his rather dangerous wife. However, he could see why she would be looking to ply new waters with _him_ to coming home every night. "I will deliver this to Master Wiltek at once."
"Good, of you go then. Don't dwell on the way," Eilomar said and waived him out.
