Description: J'ren is grounded by M'van for a strained wing.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 12, day 19 of Turn 3
Kenaranth isn't happy to be draged away from the greens but he's here." J'ren told the older dragonhealer. He'd been told to report for Kenaranth's check-up "This isn't going to take too long," said M'van to his Wingsecond.
The younger bronzerider might be his superior in the Wing, but when it came to draconic health, well this was the one time the bluerider was in control."Unless there are problems. but I doubt that there will be."
}:I hope not, J'ren takes good care of me.:{ Kenaranth told the blue, sounding a bit like a weyrling.
Kiloth repeated the comment, and it was with difficulty that M'van kept his face straight.
"Can you ask him so spread out his left wing?" asked M'van. "I'd like to check it for signs of strains."
Kenaranth raised his wing, extending it to it's full leanght.
M'van could see it looked good, but to double check, he needed to physically check by touch as well as sight. "Can you ask him if he minds me doing this?"
}:HE can go ahead.:{ the bronze said.
Seeing J'ren give his acknowledgment, M'van gently ran his hands over the musculature of the bronze dragons's wing. It all felt and looked good.
Without being asked, the bronze rasied his oppisite wing, it didn't open quite as far. }: It's a little sore.:{ he said.
That didn't go un-noticed. "Has he been like that for long?"
"He was fine a drills yesterday." the bronzerider replyed, **Why didn't you mention that?** he asked.
}: It didn't hurt until now.:{ the bronze replyed.
"Has he said anything about pain?" asked M'van. "Whether it's just a vague soreness, or stabbing pain, whatever it is, I need to know."
"He said it's sore, right under the joint."
"If you don't mind?" The question was directed at both dragon and rider as M'van moved closer to have a good look at the area.
The bronze nodded before his rider out answer. His eyes wrilled slowly as he watched with intrest.
"I don't think it's serious," replied the Dragonhealer after a moment.
"Just a minor sprain," he said, gently testing the area and watching the reaction of the bronze. "I am going to have to ground him for the next fall though."
J'ren winced, U'das wasn't going to like it. But Kenaranth came first and both his rider and wing leader knew that. "Just the one fall right?"
"Just the one," assured M'van. "No flying until then, apart from very light manoeuvres alone if he's hungry. It's only for the rest of this sevenday, then just make sure that either myself or one of my colleagues gives you the all clear."
"Thank you M'van. I'll make sure he rests."
"It'll be in my report to the Wingleaders, but if you would like to inform U'das yourself..." offered M'van.
"I'll drop by his office when we're done."
M'van nodded.
"Is there any salve or such that he's going to need? Or just rest?"
"Just rest."
J'ren turned to his bronze, "You heard that right? No chasing pretty greens for a bit." The look of the dragons face was an almost comic disapoinment.
"It won't be for too long."
"Agian, thank you your help M'van. I'll make sure he behaves."
"I'm sure he will."
