Arva gave a little cheep as she appeared from /between/.
"You were supposed to stay in our room," scolded Fieayz as her pet settled herself on her shoulder.
~Bronzerider in courtyard~
The image Arva sent was so vivid, "R'zan," she murmured out loud. What was he doing here, but then she realized, Garnet Valley was beholden to River Bluff. "He must have got my letter."
R'zan kicked little stones around, glancing up at windows hoping to catch a glimpse of a familiar face. **That was Fieayz's flit, wasn't it?**
}:Yes. She's here,:{ Barnzleth confirmed.
**Then where is she? That lordling isn't going to take all day to pick out a trinket...**
"R'zan?" She couldn't quite believe it. "What are you doing here?" she asked as she came into the courtyard.
"There you are," the bronzerider grinned as he opened his arms wide.
"Did you miss me?"
"You know I did," she said stepping into his embrace. Hopefully the Hallmaster was busy with classes and nobody would tell him about this little interlude. "You did get my letter? Didn't you?"
"Yeah, course I did," he said he gave a good hard squeeze. "Sorry, I've been... busy. You know how it is. But I heard a little lordling needed a ride here today and I volunteered, so here I am. Is there...
somewhere we can go to talk?"
"Over there," she pointed to a shaded corner of the courtyard. There was just enough shadow that anyone watching might not be sure just who was there, and what was going on.
"Looks perfect," he grinned pulling back but keeping his arm curled around her waist. It wasn't _quite_ as private as he had been hoping for...
"I have missed you." She gave him a smile, "Life hasn't quite been the same without you."
"But of course!" he grinned as he ducked under the low-slung branches.
"And living in the Halls... Shards, I don't know how you do it. Why in Faranth's name did you let your father toss you off like that?"
"It was that new wife of his," Fieayz made a small expression of dislike. "But you know I could always change my mind."
"Shards, I hope you will," he said as he reached up to tilt her face towards him. "You know you've grown prettier since you left the Weyr.
That's for sure."
"Are you going to try and persuade me?" she asked, enjoying the compliments.
"Can you be persuaded?" he asked as he wrapped his arm around her waist and leaned in closer.
"Depends on your method of persuasion bronzerider."
"I very much doubt you've forgotten _my_ method's of persuasion," he whispered into her ear.
"A little reminder maybe?" she teased, falling into his mood. "I mean, it has been a while."
"Well, this is a little public for the kind of reminder I would _love_
to give you," he chuckled as he kissed her neck softly. "But perhaps I can give you a little incentive to find a way to steal you away for a candle mark or two on my dragon. Perhaps one night when you might not be missed?"
"Well, I did promise Keles I'd go visit her again next rest day..."
"Where can I meet you?"
"She and her husband live about 10 minutes walk that way. It's out of sight of the Hall."
His bronze could drop him off and he could walk in so as not to raise suspicion... "You won't be missed?"
"I just said I'd visit in the afternoon."
"Perfect," he grinned. "I hope you haven't re-discovered too many of your Holdbred inhibitons," the bronzerider teased.
"I wouldn't know what you mean," she said innocently.
"Then I guess that means I have a lot more to teach you," he whispered as he leaned in to give her a proper kiss.
"And I'm sure you would be an excellent teacher," she finally managed to say when the kiss broke.
"Wasn't I before?" The bronzerider gave her an even more enthusiastic kiss as a reminder of just how much he had taught her during her stay at the Weyr until his lifemate interupted him.
}:The Lordling comes.:{ "Shards," he muttered as he pulled his lips away. **Just when we were getting somewhere...** "My passenger doesn't seem to be nearly picky enough. I guess that means I have to go."
"I'll be thinking of you," she said.
"Next rest day, right? Send Arva with the time. I'll be there." He gave her one last sound kiss before turning to jog back to his waiting dragon.
She watched him leave, wondering what the next restday would bring, surely she could sneak away for long enough to meet him.
