M'yvak

**It is a beautiful morning,** M'yvak thought with emphasis as he
stood on his weyrledge, cup of klah in hand, eyes scanning the serene
stillness of the triple cliffs of Dragonsfall Weyr as the sun began to
rise.

}:....Mhmmmfff.:{

**I'm sorry, what was that, love?** he asked, not bothering to look
over his shoulder at Pesrath.

A low rumbling whine reverberated out of the blue dragon's weyrcouch.

M'yvak chuckled before bringing his cup of klah to his lips. Pesrath
was _not_ a morning personality, but alas, they were to ride sweeps
that morning.

**Who are we riding sweeps with again?**

}:...Feyonth...:{ the blue mumbled groggily.

**FEYONTH?!** M'yvak spewed his klah out in a spume of brown liquid.

Feyonth?! Feyonth belonged to _L'kav_ and L'kav was... L'kav was....

"The most perfect specimen of man ever created!" M'yvak cried out in
panic. Ever since L'kav had transferred and been placed in Cobalt
Wing, M'yvak had been harboring a major crush on the greenrider. Like
_major_, _embarassing_ crush.

He looked down at his tunic. "Oh Faranth, why did I pick this tunic?
It makes my complexion look _terrible_!" The bluerider dashed back
into his weyr for a better option.

When he felt suitably dressed, M'yvak reappeared with a smile, but
there was a tinge of anxiety behind it.

**Let's go, Pes, I don't want to be late.**

}:Uggghhh...:{ Pesrath drug himself out of the weyrcouch and stretched
in a very feline-like manner on his ledge before submitting to M'yvak
putting his riding straps on. }:Feyonth, we're on our way,:{ he told
the green.

On their ledge, L’kav looked over his dragon with approval. He had her
ready first, although it had taken more time than he realized to
ensure she was comfortable with her new set of straps. Like a lot of
things, the tannery here was top notch.

}:Darling, Pesrath is on his way. Just put the jacket on.:{

L’kav hauled his helmet over his hair despite not wearing a shirt.
**Can you tell him to hang on a moment?**

}:And why would I do that?:{ Feyonth looked slyly over her shoulder.

**Why, my undying love and adulation, of course.**

}:Is that all?:{

**Fey, come on.**

}:You seriously want me to ask Pesrath to fly laps around the Weyrbowl
until you are ready?:{ In one fluid motion she looked up and
side-stepped to make room. }:Well, he’s here now. And I’ll take some
of that undying love you offered.:{

L’kav flashed her his most winning smile. He was beyond pleased to be
in Cobalt Wing, out of a somewhat childish but mostly professional
desire to fly on his own while under a Wingleader he didn’t have the
urge to say ‘you can’t tell me what to do’ four times a day. Not to
mention he had some absolutely solid, rockstar mates in Cobalt, old
friends and new, one of which just arrived on his ledge.

“Mornin’ M’yvak. Sorry for -” he gestured vaguely to his entire
person, “- this. I’m not usually late, honest. The climate here is
taking me for a ride. Sometimes I’m wearing too much, sometimes not
enough.” He rolled his eyes and raised a hand in exasperation,
reluctant to divulge he wasn’t familiar enough with the place names
yet to know where their location was " it could have been in the
depths of snowy mountains for all he knew. “What do you recommend?
Would you " you wouldn't want to come in and help me? I could use your
keen Searchrider eyes.”

**Just... just stay calm, M'yvak. You've seen a shirtless man before.
Plenty of times. It's just a perfectly sculpted chest with rugged
threadscars. I could just trace those with my tongue and -**

}:He's waiting on an answer,:{ Pesrath sighed.

"Oh, uh, yeah, if you'd like. I've been to Skybroom quite a few times.
It's in the mountain ridges, so it gets pretty chilly." M'yvak hoped
his voice sounded as normal as he was trying to make it.

“Oh good. C’mon in.” L’kav was willing to hide his amusement for the
time being as he set his helmet on the table and disappeared into the
bedroom. “Look man, I appreciate the help. It seems kinda obvious, I
know.” He called to M’yvak, hoping he could still hear him.

He emerged a moment later with a heavy jacket and a handful of shirts,
tossing it all over a chair back. A long-sleeved shirt looped around
his neck but he let it hang as he leaned bare forearms on the chair
back, eyes glinting. “And it's probably obvious by now that I don't
_really_ need help. Not that kind. Well, not with _this_ part, anyway"
unless I’m waaay off the mark here.” L’kav gestured to the heavy tunic
hem between his fingers, though what he had in mind didn’t involve
this or most of what they were wearing. “Don’t get me wrong, M’yvak, I
am all over sweeping those mountains. You think it’s even possible to
get sick of all the gorgeous views around here? The thing is I just
can’t stop thinking about what we could do, y’know, _afterwards_.”

**By the first glistening egg of Faranth... It's happening! Stay calm.
Stay calm.** M'yvak smiled charmingly, flicking his hair out of his
eyes with a tilt of his head.

"You're not off the mark." He was more relaxed now that his obvious
crush was out in the open. "And with Pesrath and Feyonth's speed, we
could zip over those mountains and be back in no time."

}:Sometimes they're cute, aren't they?:{ Pesrath said to Feyonth in
regards to their riders.

}:They really are, aren’t they.:{ Feyonth wasn’t precisely irritated,
not yet. She didn’t allow many blues on her ledge, and turned to look
at Pesrath like she only just realized he was there. }:Do you think
there's any chance of cuteness here?:{ She heard herself say, almost
in surprise.

“Exactly. So here’s what I’m thinking,” L'kav could be patient.

“You let me know how this sounds,” L'kav knew how to take his time.

“We do our sweep,” L'kav was still settling in at Dragonsfall and was
supposed to be coy and pretend he wanted to explore some white sand
beach somewhere " which technically he still did " rather than explore
his new wingmate with his teeth.

“If need be, we rescue the blind grandmother and her twenty grandkids
and the eight generations of family heirlooms spilled across the
mountain pass.” But L’kav never cared much for whatever he was
supposed to be.

“We dutifully and responsibly let K’rel know all is accounted for.”
And anyone who thought greens didn’t do some chasing of their own were
in for a surprise.

“And then, Pesrath and Feyonth zip us humble heroes back here.”
L'kav's smile yinned to M'yvak's yang as he threaded his arms down his
sleeves. His feral grin spread a little wider, shrugging his jacket up
his arms, his shoulders, adjusting it comfortably around the scar of
his neck.

“And we can decide what clothes we need from there.” The beach would
just have to be patient.

**That was the sexiest thing I've ever seen in my life.** M'yvak
thought, standing mesmerized by L'kav as the greenrider made the most
simple of tasks, putting on a shirt, seem hot.

"I think that sounds perfect. Wingleader K'rel will be more than
pleased with our work, I'm sure." And now the bluerider found the
confidence he so rarely lacked. "And I promise, you'll be pleased with
my work, too."

That was the kind of magic that had L’kav’s blood up, his eyes
crinkling at their edges. “Oh I never doubted that for a moment.” It
wasn’t as if the greenrider lost his eyesight during drills or ‘fall,
and the increasing warmth under his jacket spoke to the extent to
which he believed him. “I'll hold you to that, if you like. As long as
you promise to hold _me_ to those same exacting standards.”

"Oh, I will," M'yvak promised. "Now, let's get these sweeps out of the
way." He hadn't imagined that morning when he'd woken that this was
going to be the best day of his life, (}:Excuse me?:{), but it _was_!
