Syntara leaned heavily against the table in front of her. There was quite a collection of bottles and mugs in front of her and a brownrider or two that were starting to wish they hadn't tried to out drink her.

But now, not entirely sober, but not yet shamelessly drunk, it was time to satisfy her next need. She scanned the room for a suitable partner for the night and was well pleased by the look of a slightly younger looking man, tall, blonde hair, green eyes... a little overly familiar, though. Not distressed by the familiarity, Syntara got up and walked as best as she was able to her mark. As she neared, she pretended - or perhaps really did, she wasn't entirely sure - to trip and landed, coincidentally, in her rider of choice's lap.

The rider smiled. "Well, hello there." Uh-oh. Syntara knew that voice, too. Upon closer inspection, her man of choice was actually L'cian! Not at all opposed to spending another night in the bronzerider's arms, she continued on as normal.

"Hello to you, too." She smiled. "... I tripped."

"I could see that." L'cian could smell the alcohol on her breath. "But I'm afraid you'll have to trip again, Syntara, I'm already taken for the evening." He jerked his head in the direction of another woman, approaching with a fresh round of drinks.

The woman's eyes narrowed when she noticed a certain well known greenrider in _her_ bronzerider's lap. "Well well, Syntara. It's a surprise to find you there. In L'cian's lap that is." She shot the bronzerider an accusing glance.

"Is it?" She smiled easily. "I thought everyone knew that I like to find myself here now and again." She turned toward L'cian. "And you _do_ like me being here, don't you?"

The bronzerider knew better than to answer.

The woman returned her smiled with exaggerated sweetness. "Yes, well, that's _my_ seat tonight."

Syntara laughed outright. "Not from the looks of things. Move along."

The other greenrider rolled her eyes. She was getting really sick of this game. "Look, there are only two drinks here in my hands, and you've already had a few too many. The party is over. Go sleep it off."

Syntara leaned in close to L'cian and whispered in his ear, loud enough for the annoying woman to hear. "Too bad we're not going to sleep tonight..." She grinned and began kissing L'cian's cheek, neck, and just about everything else that was available to her.

"L'cian, please, can you be a part of this discussion at all?" the greenrider asked casting a more than annoyed look in the bronzerider's direction.

The bronzerider looked rather trapped. "She tripped, you see..."
Sytnara was awuflly hard to resist, after all.

"You see?" The greenrider stopped her occupation for a moment. "The man has spoken. Move along and find some other man, tramp."

"L'cian? Do you want me to move along?" she asked, not taking her eyes from the bronzerider's face.

Syntara got up from her rather tempting seat and cut off whatever L'cian would have said. "Didn't you _hear_ me? I said to move along. If L'cian wanted you, he would have said so." The pair were beginning to attract attention.

"And if L'cain had wanted _you_, you wouldn't have had to _trip_ into his lap. He would have _invited_ you."

"You'll notice that he's not sending me away." She took a step closer.
"But I mean, honestly, you're not totally unfortunate looking, you could probably find someone drunk enough to bed you in a few more candlemarks."

"I have a feeling _you're_ almost drunk enough to bed me," the greenrider snorted. "Look at you. You can't stand up straight, you can barely talk without drooling and spitting anywhere, and you have to 'fall' into mens laps to find company. You're pathetic." The rider then turned her eyes on the bronzerider. "And so are you, I might add, if you are even considering sleeping with this creature. It's wrong to take advantage of a woman in such a state."

"I think that-" L'cian interjected but, once again was cut off by Sytnara.

"First of all, there isn't enough alcohol on all of Pern to make _you_
attractive. Second, you were about to bed this L'cian half a candlemark ago so don't pretend that you don't want him, too. And third," there was a menacingly look in the greenrider's eyes, "if you ever insult me again, I'll make sure that you won't leave the healer's for a sevenday."

"Oh, I'm sorry, did you take that as an insult?" the woman asked, mocking shock ringing in her voice. "I wasn't aware it was so sharding easy to do."

In a flash, Syntara slapped the woman squarely across the jaw. "What were you saying?"

L'cian stepped in between the women, facing Syntara. "All right. That's enough for tonight, ladies."

The greenrider reached back and gave the bronzerider a mighty slap across his face, catching Syntara squarely on the backswing. "You're right, L'cian, that _is_ enough."

Syntara capitalized on L'cian's moment of shock to leap out of his arms toward the greenrider. Things moved so fast that both women had swung a time or two and yelled more than a few insults and obscenities before L'cian and some other brave men were able to pull them apart.

Syntara was still seething and struggling in L'cian's arms even after she got her revenge on the greenrider, as evidenced by the bit of hair clentched in one fist and the rather unattractive splotch on her opponent's jaw that was already starting to swell. "Whore!" She yelled.

"All right Sytnara." L'cian said sharply enough to command even Syntara's respect. "That is _enough_."

"Oh, _now_ you grow a spine," the greenrider sneered sarcastically at the bronzerider. "If you want that piece of bovine dung, you can have her! And she can have you for all I care."

L'cian didn't reply, although Syntara was quite vocal; instead, he all but hoisted Syntara onto his shoulder and carried her back to her weyr to sober up.
