Description: Talwynn tells Yanley that she's moving out her weyr.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 2, day 7 of Turn 9
Notes: Mentioned: D'kere
Talwynn had some free time in the morning before the drills with the
Queen's Wing. So after she and D'kere had breakfast and he headed off
to go see the weyrlings, she headed out to the Headwoman's office so
that she could talk to Yanley about how she'd be moving out of her
weyr.
The greenrider arrived at the office and knocked on the door.
"Just a moment, please!" Yanley called and turned back to the girl,
one of the candidates who worked at the lower caverns. After handful
of instructions she sent her away. "And please let the next one in."
Talwynn appreciated that the candidate held the door for her on her
way out. "Headwoman Yanley, ma'am. Good morning," she greeted as she
entered.
"Good morning, Talwynn. How are you?" Yanley replied with a smile.
"Good morning, Headwoman. I'm doing really well," Talwynn said, a
level of enthusiasm and excitement in her tone that normally wasn't
there.
"I have a piece of big news to let you know today. I'm going to
weyrmate with D'kere. Officially, I mean. And move in with him. So my
weyr can be cleaned out and made available to someone else."
"Congratulations! That is great news. I wish happiness for both of
you," Yanley was indeed happy to hear news like this.
"Thank you so much, ma'am. I never thought I'd feel this way about
anyone, and it's going to be quite the adjustment. But I'm excited to
be making it."
"It always is," Yanley agreed. "So, is D'kere's weyr large enough for
two of you?" she asked. She couldn't remember out of hand, but D'kere
was wingsecond, so it should be. Never hurt to ask.
"It's got enough space inside it that we can share. I think Kenirath
and Riveth are fine with the ledge space as well. So we could stay
there for now. But we wouldn't say no to taking a look at something
else if it opened up, as long as it had the bathing pool," she said
with a laugh. After all, there was no harm in shopping around. "I know
you probably gave out all of the family ones when we got the influx,
right?"
"Right. We don't have many free weyrs available. I can tip you off if
something nice opens up," Yanley replied. "So, do you need any help
moving? I can assign you few sturdy candidate-lads to help you."
"I'd appreciate their help so it would go faster," Talwynn admitted.
"It shouldn't take more than a candlemark, I don't own too much that
needs aid."
"I'll send pair of boys to help. They can take all the heavy stuff,"
Yanley promised and made a note.
"Sounds perfect," Talwynn said.
"Is there anything else you need?" Yanley asked.
"No, ma'am," the greenrider answered. She'd only needed a simple task.
"Alright then. Don't hesitate to ask me if you do need something,"
Yanley said.
"Yes ma'am. Thank you again," Talwynn said before letting herself out.
