Jaylene

Jaylene

"Well, what do you think?" Jaylene tossed her brush down onto the sand and directed Reanth into the water. It felt good to get her green beauty clean once again, something she hadn't been able to do at River Buff in the last few days. Jayonne tossed the brush he had been using on Sirjath and looked around before letting his gaze settle on Uetia. Both siblings looked at her as if they were waiting for an answer.

"Think about what?" Uetia asked. She was irritated because she couldn't even wash her own dragon, although she was grateful of Jayonne's help. The deepening green on Sirjath's hide didn't help her mood. She was the prime example of proddy greenrider.

Jaylene sighed inwardly. For the umteenth time she was so grateful that her dainty little green never got proddy. Dear Reanth was too practical for that, she mused. "What do you think about the new Weyr?"

Instead of answering, Jayonne pointedly looked to Uetia for her to answer first. The expression on his face told Jaylene that he wasn't used to seeing Uetia like this.

"It's colder than River Bluff, the view is nice but I already miss the sea. I've met some wonderful friendly people and one total jerk", Uetia replied. "At least you and K'mai are here, which makes it better."

"I miss the sea too," Jayonne mused. "And the warmth. And is it me or does this plalce seem a lot more busy?"

"Maybe they have to keep busy to stay warm," Uetia suggested.

Jaylene snorted. "This could be true. In any case you have my brother and K'mai whilst I have...Reanth." Her dragon nuzzled her on the shoulder before wadding out into the water.

"Oh, you'll find someone," Uetia tried to comfort her. "Plenty of new people to meet and so forth."

"He'd have to put up with my two brothers." Jaylene winked and gave Jayonne a pat on the head, having to reach up since he was taller than her. He just laughed and threw his soapy rag at her. Jaylene ducked and it went straight for Uetia.

"Hey!" Uetia shouted and snatched the rag with her good hand. She had pretty good reflexes. With a wicked smile, she sent it back towards Jaylene.

This time Jaylene couldn't duck quick enough. The rag hit her full in the face. "Ugh...soap in my mouth!" She splashed water on her face and then glared at the two. "Thanks guys."

"You're welcome," Uetia smirked. Nothing like a banter among friends to cheer her up.
