Description: Harki decides to distract Ma'din from Watch duty
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 12, day 12 of Turn 8
Notes: Mentioned: Rorela, D'hol
It was a night fit for neither man or dragon. Harki stood at the edge of Cerillith's couch and watched the snow swirl through the glow from her basket. It was almost summer, and yet the sky had chosen to spit down fat, wet snowflakes instead of rain. **Typical.**
The greenrider turned and wandered back toward where her dragon snoozed. She was at loose ends that evening, her original plans to go for a solitary climb up the cliff killed by the bad weather. The mountain snowpack was too unstable for skiing this time of year, and going to the beach required a friend. **Cerillith, ask Upinth if her rider is free.**
The green dragon blinked sleepily at her rider from where she was curled on her ledge. }:Upinth says that her rider is busy.:{
Harki snorted. Rorela was probably holed up doing hidework or something else equally virtuous-- and boring. **What about Aznith's rider?**
}:Aznith and his rider are on watch this night.:{ Cerillith curled herself a little tighter. }:Aznith says that he does not like the way the snow melts against his wings. I am very glad that I do not have to be in the snow.:{
**It's barely cold out!** Harki stooped to scratch her dragon's eyeridges. **And it's not like you hate being wet. Whenever we go down to the lake it would take a gold dragon to keep you from getting in.**
}:That's different,:{ Cerillith said primly. She closed her jewel-toned eyes and lay her chin in her front legs. }:I sleep now.:{
Harki gave her dragon a final, affectionate pat before wandering back into the shelter of her weyr. Poor Ma'din, stuck on watch duty on a night like this. All alone, probably bored out of his skull, and even though it was a warm night for snow, the wet weather could sneak into one's bones.
Which gave her an idea.
A half a candlemark later Harki pushed open the door that led to the top of the Werybowl and drew her fur coat a little tighter around her neck. The wind wasn't too bad and heavy, wet snowflakes quickly settled in her short hair and eyelashes. She hurried down the path away from the lights toward the Starstone. "Halloo the watchers! Care for some company?"
"Faranth, yes!" The blonde man called out from the little hut, recognizing the voice through what wind there was. "Get your ass in here!" Ma'din turned from the door and stoked the small fire, adding a few logs on it to both brighten and warm the small area.
Harki paused in the doorway to knock the snow off her boots before shutting out the night. She turned to face Ma'din, running her hands through her hair to shake off some of the snow. "Are you making a sauna in here?! It's really not that cold out."
"Yes. Because I'd rather sweat than freeze." Ma'din shrugged and sat back down in his chair, eyeing Harki. "Come to suffer my punishment with me?" He propped his arm back behind his head and arched a brow. "Some people just can't take a joke."
"Maybe you need funnier jokes." Harki slid into the chair opposite him and stretched her legs out toward the fire.
"Maybe B'gev needs to get a sense of humor." His eyes followed the stretch of her legs. Her bare legs. His brows shot up and a grin split his face as he sat forward and ran a hand over her knee and partway up her thigh. "Well...well..."
"Hey!" Harki slapped the brownrider's hand away. "Your fingers are ice! Warm them up first. _Then_ we'll talk."
Ma'din's grin grew devilish as he thrust his hands right back up and grabbed her high inner thigh with a firm grip. "Warm..."
Harki yelped and nearly fell off her chair. "Aren't you supposed to be on watch duty, brownrider!? For shame, assaulting a poor greenrider when you're on duty!"
As she jumped he grinned even wider.. " You like it when I assault you. And who is going to come in this weather? Besides, Aznith is watching." He dropped to his knees, keeping his hands on her. "Hmm..no trousers...I wonder..." He slid his hands up further with a waggle of his brows.
"Wonder what?" Harki asked, her voice husky.
As his hands crept upwards, he inhaled through his teeth. "Why you aren't wearing a single shaffing thing under this coat." His eyes looked up at her through his lashes. "What a treat..."
"I'm pretty sure that you can guess why I'm not wearing any trousers." Harki bared her teeth in a smile. "I hear you're pretty smart. For a brownrider."
That comment earned her a light pinch in a sensitive place before he pushed her legs apart and knelt between them. He tugged at the belt of her coat and pulled it off, his gaze heating as he parted the two sides. "Aren't you an absolutely naughty thing?" His teeth bared in a devilish smile as he reached around under the coat and cupped her hips.
Harki let herself be drawn in. "Me? Aren't you on watch duty?"
He gave a low chuckle as he bent forward and slid his mouth along her collarbone. "Would you rather I stop?" He kneaded her hips and tugged her closer, sliding his hands up her back.
"No. I'd really prefer it if you continued." The greenrider took his hand and slid it to exactly where she wanted it. "If you don't mind."
There was a light knock at the door that neither dragonrider noticed. It swung open a moment later and a young greenrider with Dolphin Cove knots stepped inside. "Excuse me, I just need directions-- oh!" Her jaw dropped as she realized exactly what she was seeing.
"I plan on it..." Ma'din was bending his head towards her, his hand kneading and caressing when the door swung open letting in a blast of cold air. He yanked away in surprise. "Shaffit it all, close the fecking door!" He rose, his arousal evident in his trousers as he faced the intruder. He grabbed her and tugged her in, slamming the door behind her to keep in the warmth. "Now, what is it..." His gaze flicked over her knots "greenrider? You lost?"
"Yes!" she squeaked. Her eyes were wide as she stared at Ma'din. **Faranth, he looks exactly like _D'hol_!** She wrenched her gaze away and accidentally made eye contact with the the naked woman lounging in the chair. Harki smiled at her. "Um. I-- I need-- I have a passenger?"
"Is it a man?" Harki stretched her arms over her head just to make the greenrider's eyes bug out a little further. "Is he... attractive?"
"I'm not sharing right now, Harki." Ma'din grumbled in frustration before turning back to the greenrider, taking decided delight in her shocked stare. She was a young one and the timid were always the most fun to needle. "But her, maybe...She's kind of cute, don't you think? " He finally flashed a wide smile, eyes lighting with interest. "What kind of passenger? If you get them there quick, you can come back before you have to leave."
"What!? No! Ew!" The greenrider pushed his hand away. "I just need directions!"
Ma'din grinned and moved to sit beside Harki, openly stroking her bare thigh. "Pity. Directions to where?"
"Just to--" His hand on her naked thigh was distracting. He looked _far_ too much like D'hol. The greenrider turned to face the door. "Just to the Headwoman's office! I have a passenger." And thank the Egg that her passenger was still strapped to her dragon's back instead of being subjected to this display.
Ma'din looked over at Harki and grinned at her, gesturing with his head at the other greenrider's behavior. He mouthed the word "prude" before turning back to face the visitor. His grin remained as he tickled his fingers along Harki's leg. "The Headwoman's office is off of the kitchens in behind the Dining Hall. Go to the main doors and take a right." He paused and tilted his head. "You sure you don't want to join in?"
The greenrider shot a look over her shoulder that could wither a tree. She didn't bother to say 'thank you' as she pushed open the door and fled into the night.
Harki looked at Ma'din. "Well. That was rude."
"Yeah." He slid his hand up her leg again. "I don't think even you and Rorela could defrost that one."
"Some people aren't worth the bother." The greenrider turned her full attention back to Ma'din -- and his wandering hand. "So... remind me. Where _exactly_ were we?"
Ma'din grinned and moved to kneel back between her thighs. "I think I was right here..."
