R'axe

R'axe

}:Let me call Rademerth's to you to keep you company. You could use cheering up.:{ Jayth said to R'axe.

**No, not tonight. I want to be alone.** R'axe told his dragon. E'varyn's visit from earlier in the day had left him in a funky mood and he didn't wish to force that on anyone, nor did he believe anyone could lift his spirits, not even J'kri.

R'axe ran a fingertip around the smooth rim of the glass he held as he stared into the fire, in a trance as he thought back to the moment his relationship with E'varyn began to change, and how he had been a fool back then not to see the signs....

**Flashback**

"Is it something I can wear?"

"Maybe," R'axe smiled.

"Is it something that jingles?" E'varyn waggled his eyebrows, earning a laugh from his weyrmate.

"No, it doesn't jingle." The bluerider answered.

E'varyn pressed a kiss to R'axe's bare skin, just above his navel, "Hmmm, is it shiny?"

R'axe's lips twitched as he fought a smile, "Maybe a little."

"Oh come on," E'varyn pouted, resting between R'axe's thighs, "tell me."

"No! The whole point of birthingday gifts is to keep them a surprise until your _birthingday_." R'axe laughed, brushing E'varyn's chestnut hair out of his eyes.

"Fine, have it your way," the greenrider finally agreed.

R'axe pulled E'varyn up his body, their belt buckles nearly entangling, "But I have an early gift you can have." There was no question what this gift was...

~*~

"Mhmm, my favorite kind of gift from you, Ray." E'varyn panted, tucked neatly into the bluerider's side as they lay together.

"I love you," R'axe pressed his lips to E'varyn's temple.

"I love you too," E'varyn said without hesitation.

For a while they laid in silence, until E'varyn pushed up onto his elbow and turned to look at R'axe, "I've a question for you."

R'axe lifted an eyebrow, "I'm listening."

"There's this guy in my wing, that new transfer from Dreams End..." he waited to see if R'axe knew who he was talking about.

"Th'yan?"

"Yes, that's him," E'varyn smiled, apparently pleased that R'axe knew who he was talking about. "I was thinking that maybe he could join us some time...." He trailed off with a lift of his eyebrows.

R'axe couldn't help the look of surprise that he could feel on his face, "Like, in here?" He gestured to the bed they were laying in.

"Yes, I think it could be fun." There was clear excitement in E'varyn's eyes.

"But... Why?" It wasn't that they necessarily had a monogamous weyrmating, but they'd never invited anyone else into _their_ weyr, or _their_ bed.

"I think you would like him, and I think it would be good, the three of us." The idea wasn't what bothered R'axe, but that E'varyn had clearly been thinking about this for a while bothered him in a way he couldn't put to words.

"Come on, R'axe," E'varyn's face clouded a little, "I'm not saying I don't love you, or that I love him. Since when have you become a prude?"

R'axe sighed, knowing that he could deny his weyrmate nothing, "Okay, if it will make you happy."

E'varyn's eyebrows shot up in happiness, "I _told_ Th'yan you would agree! Thank you, love," he pressed a kiss to R'axe's mouth.

**Wait.. They've already discussed this? What else have they done?**

"You won't regret this, Ray, I promise."

***End Flashback***

He had been foolish and naive to believe E'varyn back then, even when it had gone against what his gut was telling him. That experience had been one of the reasons he'd been so hesitant to join J'kri and Paetri. R'axe didn't want to be duped by E'varyn a second time, Faranth knew he had a blindspot when it came to the brunette.

}:Are you sure you don't want to talk to Rademerth's about this? Talking to him always makes you feel better.:{ Jayth insisted.

**I am sure. This may become nothing.** He didn't want to dump his past on J'kri, not yet.
