Description: Lanniya runs away from Orlaith's Flight
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr, River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 4, day 21 of Turn 8
Notes: Mentioned: Pierka, Rhosyn
The moment she heard Orlaith bellow, Lanniya burst out of her weyr,
mentally calling Anaeryth. The young gold had already began to tense
at the mating calls as Lanniya reached her. Her skirts flew as she
climbed up and hurriedly strapped in. **We have to go. Now.** The
mental bellows from the males already pounded in her head, impossible
for her to block out and the lust, far more powerful than any green
flights that she had felt, was racing through her blood.
}: Where? :{ Anaeryth took to the hot skies and banked away from the
Weyr as Lanniya wracked her brain. Visiting Pierka flitted through her
mind, but after the previous day, she decided that visiting K'ale,
would be a bit more enjoyable. She had had such fun.
**Dragonsfall.** If she remembered right, no Thread was falling. She
gave Anaeryth the image she had learned and they blinked /between/.
They emerged a few breaths later into a stunning cold that took her
breath away. She had been in far too much of a hurry to remember to
put on her riding leathers, much less shoes; the whispy skirts she
wore offered no protection from the cold. She gave a shuddering gasp,
her toes immediately curling. **COLD! COLD!** She immediately began to
shiver. **Call Imalkyth. I don't know where I'm supposed to go!** How
could anyone live in this cold? It made her bones hurt and the air
that she dragged into her lungs stung.
After identifying herself to the watchdragon, Anaeryth immediately
called to the brown. }:Imalkyth? Mine and I are visiting. Orlaith
rose to mate and mine is very very cold. Where do we go to find yours?:{
K'ale ran to his weyrledge while Imalkyth launched into the air.
}:Here:{ he called out and winged toward the queen. Once she saw him
he turned and led her to where K'ale waited.
Before she even landed he could see she had every reason to be cold
and whipped off his jacket to hang around her small frame.
Anaeryth landed quickly, but Lanniya had difficulty undoing her
straps. Her fingers were numb from the abrupt cold she had encountered
and already she was shaking so hard that it was difficult to get her
fingers in the right place. Even the ledge seemed far too cold and it
was out of the biting wind. She finally managed to unstrap and half
stumble down Anaeryth's side, squeaking as her bare feet touched the
stone. It was so cold it hurt. She shifted from foot to foot, looking
truly pathetic. "C..c..cold.."
He flung his jacket around her shoulders as soon as he reached her and
then just like a few days before he picked her up and strode inside to
the warm interior of his weyr while Imalkyth squeezed sideways to
offer his couch to the visiting queen.
"What possessed you to /between/ here without your flying leathers?"
He shook his head it would take to long to stoke the fire so he
carried her to his bed and pulled back the furs.
Shaking, Lanniya clutched at the jacket. It was warm from his body,
but her feet and fingers felt like they were frozen stiff and her ears
were burning from the cold. Her voice shook as she answered. "Orlaith.
Had to get Anaeryth out." She shuddered and grateful for the blankets,
slipped her feet under them immediately. "Didn't think it would be so
cold." Her teeth chattered and trying to get warmer, pulled the
blankets up to her shoulders and shook.
Her lips were blue and he shook his head. He'd lived his whole life at
Dragonsfall and knew the dangers of cold. But it was even worse for
her coming from such a hot Weyr. "Body heat," he said and pulled his
shirt off. "Sorry about this Lanniya but you need to get warm and that
means skin to skin." He finished by pulling off his socks and trousers
and slid under the covers with her.
Pulling her into his arms he twined legs with her and began chafing
her back with his hands to help a little with friction if nothing
else.
If she had been able to think more clearly, she would have been far
more embarrassed and flustered at a semi naked man crawling into bed
with her. But the moment he got under the blankets, she felt his
warmth through her dress and when his arms wrapped around her, she
groaned in relief. He was _warm_. So very very warm. She immediately
burrowed closer to him and seeking the warmth, placed her feet right
on his legs. The heat was amazing. And, she had the vague thought, it
wasn't as though she hadn't seen a man in shorts like that before. She
wiggled closer until she was flush against him and stuck her toes
right against his calves. "Warm."
He sucked air between his teeth as the little icicles hit his calf but
he'd been expecting that and when she snuggled closer he found himself
curling around her. "Better," he asked and dropped a kiss on the top
of her head.
"Uh huh." She nodded, soaking in the warmth of him. It felt nice to be
held this way, even better because she was cold, but it was
just...nice. She'd never been held like this since she was a child,
but this certainly didn't feel like a family member holding her. He
felt strong and heated and...she felt the soft kiss and smiled a bit.
"Sorry to just drop in on you like this." It was a murmur. She gave a
little shiver again, but his body heat was quickly warming her up. Her
hands tucked between her chest and his own, but she was able to rest
her cheek against his shoulder. "But I couldn't stay at the Weyr with
all those dragons ready to mate and with Anaeryth."
"Oh," he said realizing finally what had happened. But her movement
and snuggling was causing other sensation and he arched his back to
move his pelvis slightly away from the stimulation. Perhaps climbing
half naked into bed with her hadn't been the very best idea.
When he moved, she followed him, wanting to stay just as warm as she
could. Not realizing why he was moving away, she continued speaking.
"It was pretty intense. I wasn't expecting all of those emotions like
that. Before I concentrated on Anaeryth and didn't even think about
what was going on with the bronzes. I was able to block them out. But
this time I wasn't. " She shivered again and it wasn't entirely from
the cold. She looked up at K'ale's face. "Has Imalkyth ever chased a
gold like that? Was it intense for you and him?"
"Yes," he said trying not to grit his teeth as he fought his body. "We
have won a gold flight." Though his mind wasn't on that flight at the
moment. She was an innocent and he knew it. But he couldn't help
himself and bent his head to kiss her softly. But he pulled his head
back almost immediately. "I'm sorry," he whispered. "I shouldn't have
done that."
The kiss surprised her, but she certainly didn't resist. The little
peck that she had given F'lin wasn't the warmth of K'ale's mouth. Her
lids fluttered, and before she could try to respond to it, he pulled
away. "Why not?" Her expression showed her confusion. She flushed and
swallowed, but didn't move away. Her shivering had stopped and she was
now blissfully warm; even with him without much clothes on, she didn't
want to move. He smelled good, and he was warm and his lips...that had
been nice. Her voice became hesitant. "I didn't mind."
Well he wanted to so his face came down to hers again. "Are you sure?"
He was going to kiss her again. Really kiss her. Her heart fluttered
in her chest and she nodded. A real kiss. "Yes." She looked at his
lips and then slowly lifted her mouth to his, pressing her lips
against his own. It was a bit hesitant; she'd never kissed a man
really, but she wanted to.
His arms tightened and he deepened the kiss she'd started. He didn't
want to move to fast and scare her away yet he wanted...
}:Mine wants to fly yours:{ Imalkyth said to Anaeryth.
The kiss was everything she had hoped her first real kiss would be.
His arms were around her, her hands were in his hair and it was
_wonderful_. She felt her heart begin to beat faster and despite her
lack of experience, she learned quickly how to respond to the kiss.
She pressed closer and felt _something_ nudge at her but it wasn't
until she heard Imalkyth speak to Anaeryth that she figured out
exactly what it was.
}: She has never flown before. I think she wants Yours to fly her. :{
Anaeryth rubbed her chin along Imalkyth's shoulder, curling close to
him.
Lanniya pulled her lips away from K'ale's, and stared at him for a
moment, face flushed. Anaeryth's low throbbing hum of approval was
both comforting and pulled her to continue with what they were doing.
"I've never..." She licked her lips and slowly shifted against the
_something_ that was nudging her, her thigh brushing his and slowly
twining around his leg. She knew what it was, but knowing and feeling
where quite different. She pressed her mouth to his again.
His body responded to the warm armful of beautiful and her sweet
kisses. But when she said 'I've never...' his eyes flew open and he
watched her as she moved against him. "Never," he asked as he clamped
down on the progression of this moment.
She shifted again, staring up at him with glazed eyes, then shook her
head. "No. But...I want to." Especially now.
"So do I," he said and lifted a hand to cup her face. "But we hardly
know each other. Are you sure there isn't someone back at River Bluff
that you care about enough?" He was concerned that hormones and the
thrill of the moment might lead her into doing something that would
drive a wedge between them forever. His thumb gently stroked her
temple. "Lanniya," he said softly. "I want you very much but this is a
gift you can only ever give once."
It was difficult for her to concentrate on what exactly he was saying.
Her body wanted something she was unfamiliar with and it took a few
moments for his words to penetrate. "But I have to before Anaeryth
rises. And I really like you." She swallowed. "No one at River Bluff
has tried." She met his eyes, a little embarrassed by having to admit
that. But he did want her. He had admitted it, so that made her feel a
little better.
It was difficult trying to think about this when she was so warm and
he was so close and her body was buzzing for more of those kisses. "Do
you...do you not think I'm ready?"
He tried to get a firm hold on himself and hugged her to him anyway.
"Sweetheart, you're wonderful and I want to more than I can say. But
there isn't a big rush you know, not like it is for a greenrider.
Anaeryth won't likely rise for another turn." He put a finger under
her chin and smiled down into her eyes. You're lovely and very
desireable and I like you very much. I just want you to be sure when
you've had a little time to think about it." He smiled and kissed her.
"But we can certainly do more of this." He tilted his head and began
nibbling on her neck and earlobe.
Time, well, yes, she had time but she didn't want to wait a year.
Impulsively, she wanted to tell him that she was ready right _now_,
but in the back of her mind, she recalled that she had wanted
sweetness and romance too. He kissed her again and she sighed
wistfully, her mind going absolutely gooey. That he was willing to
wait _was_ romantic and sweet. Her heart did a little flutter with a
little moan of compliance she nodded even as she shivered. "Okay..."
Her voice was breathy. "But more. More of this."
"Of course," he murmured. He knew he was going to regret this but it
was the right thing to do. For some reason he couldn't really explain
he wanted to do the right thing for Lanniya.
