Description: Lenala needs to rest after the Hatching.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 3, day 21 of Turn 8
She had been standing ready as soon as the dragons started to hum.
Running around with everything and knowing that Lenala wouldn't be able
to attend her own Hatching, Rhosyn had prepared for everyone to be
brought in and keep it as normal as possible despite the situation. Her
Second was alive and healing. There were no problems to worry over. The
Weyr would be able to keep everyone protected. And then Vilarth had
started acting strange. It was probably to be expected, since her rider
wasn't there. Still, Rhosyn couldn't have that. Not now.
Orlaith was ready to handle things though they didn't want to have a
battle of wills in front of the holders and guests. That was never a
good thing to show discord. Ready to give the order, she was surprised
when she saw Lenala down in the bottom of the Grounds. A'kades was
there. **Why is she out of bed?** Angry and ready to go down there
instead of soothe her guests, the Weyrwoman moved forward when she saw
Vilarth move. The gold let the candidates in and things began to proceed
apace. **Well that's good.** Hopefully people wouldn't remember what had
happened first, just the after. Impressions were made.
The feast was absolutely out of the question, though, for Lenala. If she
had to call the healers to go down and drag her to bed, she would.
**Tell Volaith's rider he better get her in bed but ask if she is all
right**
}:Volaith, mine wants to know if Vilarth's is allright and says she
better be in bed again soon or she'll carry her herself. She shouldn't
worry about the Weyr now. She needs to take care of herself.:{ Orlaith
and Rhosyn could lead the Weyr now that the eggs were hatched. And the
senior queen was still listening to Vilarth carefully from where she
perched outside in the Bowl. Hopefully now the other queen would just sleep.
}:My rider says that he is taking her back to the Infirmary and his
Healer,:{ Volaith said, passing along a fuzzy image of the healer he
meant and his rider's sense of concern. }:She needed to be here to
control Vilarth but now he will make sure she is safe.:{
Vilarth was heading for the feeding pens. She had not been eating for a
long time and was now hungry. She was still worried about her rider but
her physical needs took priority now, that the eggs were safely Hatched.
}:Vilarth eats:{ Orlaith supplied.
That actually made Rhosyn relax a bit. If Vilarth was eating, her
nervousness was being overridden by her hunger. And that meant her
nervousness had faded some. If she wasn't so nervous then Lenala was
getting better which was also welcome news. Of course the Weyrwoman
would check on her Second when things had calmed down and she didn't
have a Weyr full of curious guests. Lenala needed to rest and A'kades
was there anyhow.
}:I will eat as well,:{ Volaith said, following the gold who was his
mate. He would keep an eye on her while there. He suspected Orlaith
would as well.
The healers resumed their buzzing around her when Lenala reached
infirmary. She had indeed started bleeding again but not as heavily as
Lenala had feared. This was equal of normal post-natal bleeding. In a
way, she had given a birth. As far as healers could determine, her
placenta had ruptured. She was glad to be back in the bed.
"Tell Rhosyn that I won't be attending the Feast," she asked with
tired voice.
"I'll be sure to," A'kades said. "Do you want me to stay here with you
as well?"
}:Orlaith, mine says that Vilarth's will stay in the infirmary and not
attend the feast,:{ Volaith passed along.
The queen passed that onto her rider. **Good** Now that she didn't have
to worry about Lenala for awhile, Rhosyn could focus on her guests and
everything else. She was tired and her limbs moved slowly but she moved
onto the Dining Cavern to deal with that.
"You should go and represent us, as the rider of the clutch's sire. And
congratulate the Weylings, for my behalf too," Lenala replied to
A'kades. She closed her eyes and accepted a drink from an apprentice
healer. She needed rest.
"Then I'll let them know how proud we both are," the bronzerider assured
her.
