Description: The two of them have a playful morning.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 11, day 9 of Turn 7
G'nir leaned onto his arm, laying on his bed and just watched Nokala move
around in his weyr. He simply enjoyed watching the woman-moving and doing
things. Their one
nighter at the Hatching had turned into several nights now and then. Not
that they were
anything like a couple. G'nir had other women too.
Having been raised in a Weyr, the harper was familiar with the layout of a
rider's weyr
and was comfortable with easy arrangements. She didn't have any
expectations but she did like the Weyrleader's company. He wasn't bad to
look at either. Standing at the wooden sideboard, she finished putting the
ingredients into the klah pot and then put it over the fire to steep. Of
course being Weyrleader, G'nir had a few amenities that others didn't which
made it convenient for her to putter in his weyr rather than in her own
quarters at times.
"Is there enough for me too, woman?" G'nir asked lazily.
"Mmmmm but it'll be a little bit." She sort of liked when he addressed her
like that. It felt primal like he was exerting some sort of male dominance
but she didn't felt belittled by it since it was never done in public or
even with a malicious tone. And she knew he knew her name. He'd said it
enough times the night before.
"Alright," G'nir stretched and got up. "What are you going to do today?" he
asked with a conversational tone.
"Well no lessons till after midday meal thank Faranth. So this morning I
was actually going to spend some time tuning." That was her word for
writing music. Most of her scribbles never saw the light of day but
occasionally some of them made it through the fire. "And yourself?" She had
an amused tone as she stirred the klah mixture. His life was so much more
glamorous than hers.
"Drills, hidework, wingleader meeting, more drills," G'nir replied. He
didn't think his life was glamorous, most of the time it was just hard work.
"Oh well poor Weyrleader then. Why two drills and not just one?" She was
familiar with Weyrlife and wing drills. Of course if a wing wasn't working
very well sometimes they held more than one.
Or maybe G'nir was just a hardass.
"First is aerial formation, up in the air. The last is physical exercises
for riders only. We need to keep fit," G'nir replied. "Some of the riders
are getting soft." he complained.
"Some of them," she quietly agreed. "So no one else can join in on the
exercising? What if one wanted to watch?" She turned and gave him a
challenging look. Not long and the klah would be ready. It was beginning to
tingle her nostrils.
"Everyone is welcome to take part in the fitness drills. Not that I've
noticed many volunteers. And who can tell you not to watch? This is a free
Weyr," G'nir replied.
"Mmm I wouldn't mind a run or two except it's absolutely frigid out there.
I mean....no. Just no." She was still a tropical girl at heart and was
actually robed right then in a fur lined long device and her feet had
slippers on them. The heat was on but it wasn't enough. Picking up the pot,
she poured the beverage into the mugs and then added the sweetener she
preferred. Stepping back, she came toward him and offered
the mug before slipping back under the bedfurs. "Honestly, you have to be
able to exercise indoors. Maybe move the tables in the dining cavern and do
it there."
"You could run up and down the stairs," G'nir suggested. "Admittedly,
there's lot of traffic in them and you risk knocking down some poor lower
cavern worker. You can also swim in the winter lake," he continued.
While the winter lake was heated by underground hot springs, it wasn't as
warm as tropical waters. "Or you can persuade some dragonrider to take you
somewhere warm," he whispered suggestively and leaned over her.
"Oh...I wonder how I might do that... Maybe shake a little leg?" Wiggling
one of her appendages outside of the robe for a moment, she giggled before
pulling it back under the furs. "Or maybe I should just make him a mug of
hot klah to warm his belly?" She sipped her own while watching him as he
was so close. Then she licked the
underside of his chin.
"Either could work," G'nir said huskily.
"Drink your klah before it gets cold. And then maybe we'll have breakfast.
When do those first drills start?" She was gauging time. If he had to be
gone before too long then she'd be on her own for breakfast. That didn't
really matter, but Nokala wanted to make sure she had time for a hot bath
before she went down there.
"At the ninth candlemark," G'nir replied. He sipped his klah and eyed her
speculatively. They would have time for one more tumble if she was
interested. He certainly was.
She wasn't a fool and she didn't miss the look. Carefree Nokala might be,
but she did like the spacious bath. Finishing her own mug off with another
drink, she set it down on the nearby table. "Fine, then you can keep me
warm for another halfcandle before breakfast. Hurry up and drink." Throwing
the robe aside, she burrowed down into the furs after giving him a healthy
flash of skin.
G'nir was more than happy to comply. He didn't _quite_ throw off the mug
after he drained it but it came close.
