Description: Talwynn's green rises and is caught by Jodeth.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 10, day 9 of Turn 7
There were indeed many fine dragons after her this flight. Two bronzes,
four browns, and many a number of blues, one of whom was just a bit too
close to her tail... she twisted to the side to avoid him. She wasn't a
new and young green to be caught that quickly. She was large and powerful
and she would choose at her own time.
Riveth had chosen a blue last flight, but she was fickle. Some of the
dragons called at her with sweet words, and she bellowed a challenge. What
would the best among them respond with? She liked words, but demanded
strength in motion and canniness as well.
Ignoring the others as best he could, Jodeth determined that this would his
chance. Riveth was a green he had chased before. She was no young thing
to be won by words of flattery. She knew how to fly and he wanted to fly
with her. She went to the side and then she had a split second to gain momentum
to fly in the other direction. He saw the hesitation and he shot toward her.
There was a blue coming toward him, but a loud roar caused him to think
twice about getting in the brown's way.
She continued to lead them on the chase, watching as a few more tired
and others fouled each other, dropping out as they were blocked by
others' wings. It was down to only a few good choices now, a brown and
a bronze. The rest of the pack was unworthy. Her rider's mind thought
something but this was the green's choice.
Jodeth was a good flyer, keeping up with her and not letting others
get in his way. Tenacious. She liked that and rolled towards him in
obvious invitation.
He didn't have to be told twice. He reached out and wrapped his claws around
her and they fell. Twining, he finally felt the satisfaction he'd been seeking
and the wind around them was nothing inside the cocoon inside his furled wings.
It was hot and so much more. He growled as he spent himself inside her over and
over again until it was time to stop the falling. Then brown wings came out and
stopped the descent, catching them before it was too late.
Down on the ground, P'nal moved forward in the mating cots, heedless of the
others. The dark brownrider pulled her into his arms and his lips melted to her
mouth even as he felt the need to be one with her. He didn't see Talwynn. He only
saw Riveth.
She surrendered to P'nal's touch and pulled him down as the others cleared
out, letting him take her as his dragon claimed her own. The green's body
was thrumming in satisfaction, and soon so was hers as the brownrider
touched her.
Afterwards she came back to herself, and smiled as she rolled over and
recognized the winner. "Hi there, handsome," she said in a huskier voice
than usual.
It took him a bit to realize where he was and what was going on. It wasn't
an unpleasant outcome, though. "Ahh...Talwynn. You smell nice." Of course most
of that was actually that she smelled like him and sex. His brain was still
addled with lust, though, so P'nal wasn't capable of complex sentences. And his
arms still had a compulsion to be somewhere on her so he didn't fight that.
She always liked to stay with the winners after a flight. Historically, it
had been one of the few times she felt safe indulging carnal needs. Now
she had an outlet for that, but with the residual dragonlust surging
inside of her still, that seemed far away and like it didn't matter. She
could put on her clothes and leave, but she'd far rather stay with P'nal
now.
She arched against him in clear invitation and kissed against his jaw. "So
do you."
He nuzzled his nose into her neck, kissing and licking her. "Almost good
enough to eat." He made some male grunting noises then shifted, going with the
feeling. There was nothing and no one holding him back-not in this room anyway.
Talwynn let herself be swept away by his touches, using her good hand
to scratch down his back and encourage. The flightlust made her more
wanton and vocal than usual, less crisp and restrained.
When it was all over and he lay flat on his belly with his head propped up
on her thigh, he found himself content to just lie there. The fading tremors in her
body were enough to tell him it had been good. P'nal was coming back into
himself but the brownrider was anything but rude and Talwynn's body was just as
pleasing as another greenrider's. Injuries were common in a Weyr in a Pass and it didn't
bother him. "When do you have to be anywhere?" He of course had duties, but they
weren't immediately necessary.
She trailed her fingers along his side as she spoke. "Nowhere to go until the evening.
Sky observations."
"Sky observations?" he asked curiously, his skin rippling slightly under her touch.
He was trying to keep himself in the here and now, pushing another greenrider out
of his mind. Maybe that's what Jodeth had been trying to do-give him other memories
and other women to replace her with. So far, it hadn't worked. Maybe he hadn't been
trying hard enough.
"Weather predictions," she explained. "Gotta do something to keep myself in
Craft practice."
"Ohh...I thought that's what they have dolphins for?" He looked confused
for a moment. P'nal didn't understand such things really. That was why he
was a tanner. He liked working with his hands.
"Dolphineers do it too. Sometimes Crafts overlap like that."
"Since Dragonsfall doesn't have any dolphins, it's probably a moot point."
Thinking about it, he wondered just what starsmiths really did and why it
was important. If all they did was look at the sky-what good did that do? Sure
seeing when the Red Star was coming was important now that they knew there were
Passes again. Other than that... He didn't want to belittle her though so he kept
his thoughts to himself. "Talwynn...I think I'm starving." His stomach was almost ready
to growl.
"Besides, I'm prettier than a dolphin," she joked. "Is it alright if I come to dinner with you?"
"More than all right. Better get moving or the best dessert will be gone."
He smiled and started to get up to get dressed. His tunic was shredded but
the jacket was intact.
"Wouldn't want to miss that," she agreed.
