Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 10, day 12 of Turn 7
Notes: Mentioned: Harki, Aileyan
It had been an interesting few sevendays and P'nal still didn't know if he
understood it. The two women were quite different to say the least and what
he admired Harki for Aileyan lacked. However, the smaller rider was not without
her charms. Sighing, he lifted his head when he saw Sh'lua coming forward.
"How's it?"
"How is is what it? Life in general or something more specific?" the big
bluerider asked with a grin.
"Eh life in general since I certainly don't want to hear about any of your
male escapades." It wasn't that P'nal didn't know it happened. The man
was a bluerider and this was a Weyr. The brownrider didn't care to hear about
it was all.
"And female escapades. I don't limit myself by gender. But in general,
life's good," Sh'lua replied. His smile turned to slightly mischievous one.
"In general? Small mercies I guess. You survived the blackout then I take
it?" He was joking, but he did wonder if Sh'lua had
stuck around the Weyr or not.
"Yes, although I did take the opportunity to escape to warmer weather,"
Sh'lua replied. Things really had gotten hot on that tropical island.
"Apparently several did. Especially riders suddenly needing to visit family
or even to deliver messages." He didn't blame them. However, P'nal was
needed to hold down the fort, thanks to duty. As always. Just once, he
wondered if he could be the one to do something different or what wasn't
expected of him.
"Hardly surprising. I was hauling in firewood myself and felt I deserved
little relaxation...in somewhere warm," Sh'lua said.
"Well I've been finding myself in and out of the mating cots since my dragon
has apparently decided that is an appropriate way to get warm." He shrugged,
not complaining about Jodeth and his prowess. "Makes it hard to get anything
done though."
"It does. I've noticed that we end up to same Flights quite often," Sh'lua
replied.
"Right but you don't have as many duties as I have. And when I get far
behind.." He sighed and shook his head. "Anyway, at least
things are back to normal."
"Until the next crisis," Sh'lua couldn't resist saying it.
The brownrider scowled at him, silently thanking him for that reminder.
Although there was a silver lining in the cloud of his life-
the ultimate blame did not rest on his shoulders. "Maybe you'll _be_ the
next crisis if you keep that up. Ever thought of that huh?"
"No. I don't think if I can avoid it," Sh'lua quipped back, giving him wide
eyed, empty headed look.
"Some things never change," P'nal sighed and set an empty mug aside.
