Posting Challenge Prompt #5: News

The theme for this week is News! Your character gets to react to some kind of news. Maybe it's good news:  a review by their supervisor says they've done well, they're going to get a promotion, there's a positive development in their home life, someone says yes to a date. Maybe it's bad news: something went wrong at home, they did badly on a performance review, they've lost something really important and are going to get in trouble. Either way, some impactful news or change should happen.

Post in this thread with the title of your post once you've made it. At the end of the month (so Wednesday, August 31), I'll post a recap with links to all the posts on the site and who wrote them.
