Those storylines you've always wanted to write....

We all have them, I know we do.

So, I thought I'd share mine, see if I could find some volunteers and maybe persuade other people to share theirs too.

So, storyline 1
Teseada's father had another family outside of DFW, she's met her half brother, but she has two half sisters. If they were to meet, what would their relationship be like. Would they not want to know, would they try to trade on it (my sister is a goldrider!), would they want to be friends? Who knows?

Storyline two
This takes place at one of the larger minor holdings, one big enough that the Holder is referred to as a Lord by courtesy, and may even be related to the blood. Lord A, has been married to Lady B since before the pass.  They have no children, and are desperate for an heir. Lord A was something of a playboy before he settled down, and while some of his former lovers have children, the timing does not match up for them to be his. So A and B decide to find someone to father their child. This could lead to a  lot of fun posts as they eye up potential candidates, and as Pern doesn't have IVF, conception would have to be natural, meaning that there is huge potential for blackmail, should this get out...

So - feel like volunteering? Let me know which storyline and who you are interested in writing

I've always wanted a pregnant weyrling, but I've never been allowed to.

I'd also like to be able to pull off a lust/ love/ hate relationship without it turning nice within a few posts. As in- they want to Strangle each other, but they can't keep their hands off each other.

Also an affair between a Lady Holder and a dragonrider, but I'm way too new for that.

As for storyline I've wanted to do (and tried too, but RL always interferered).. Kidnapping of Corowal's kid/kids.
One or two of Corowal's younger kids (or one of Corowals and Erassa's son by mistaken identity) got kidnapped and Corowal goes berserker. The kidnappers will eventually get tracked down and the children rescued. Let's just say that Corowal won't bother with trials and justice....

I've always wanted to develop the seahold at the end of the Nettleweed River - the one the riverboats are on.  I've worked out a lot about it over the years but right now I've got to find the time to keep the characters I have active without taking more on.

I was thinking more of him dropping I while the clueless husband was away. Lol

she was thinking something along the lines of Moreta/Alessan but the other way around if Alessan had been married. Or Kylara and Lord Meron but the other way around....hmm.. the second pairing caused obvious problems.

I actually could see your storyline going off emma without blackmail. I imagine Lord Holders could easily use handmaidens/mistresses what have you to provide issue if their wives did not. As long as no one knew they weren't legitimate IE: maybe the Lady Holder was sent off to better climes while pregnant so no one saw (and mistress went with her as lady's maid so no one saw either). Or actually as long as the Lord and Lady were allright with her, maybe it wouldnt matter if it wasn't legitimate as long as it was the sole Blood descendant. After all, it would pass to cousins and distant relatives otherwise and maybe not all of them were legitimate either hrm.

I think the problem has always been that the Lady Holders were divorced if they were barren but that was because the Lords were not actively seeking another way to provide issue and perhaps the Lady Holders didn't give their consent for it. However, if the Lady Holder gave consent for it, then why not? Keep a great woman to manage your house and train your children but get your children too...

Thanks for that Chelle, I know you'll understand when I say that this is, like the forum title, a discussion based around those fun 'what if' scenarios that are possible, but just haven't been played out for whatever reason.

It isn't the place for nit-picking and trying to find holes in storylines, that should be done with your co-conspirators, or if anyone thinks a canon issue my be involved, then by talking to the council.

If they were trying to find someone else to father a child, it wouldn't be an issue with her being barren.

Actually I tried a similar plot at another group. The holder was gay and HAD to marry. He found a nice girl and was going to have his steward impregnate her (they were making eyes at each other anyway). Then life happened and the plot never moved forward. Shame that.

There's another scenario which have always tickled my imagination: A woman marries an man (cotholder perhaps) then discovers on her wedding night that she's actually married the man and his brother (or best friends). She's expected to..you know, do the marital duties.. with both of them. They live in same hold/household as a trio. Any children she'll have will be legally her husband's. And nobody believes her if she tries to tell about it. People just don't believe a man could share his wife with his brother/friend. So they start think she's nuts. This could get x-rated pretty fast ;)

Or they're twins and the husband likes to share, and she can't tell them apart. Lol.
