Firelizard Eggs

Okay, so this has been on my mind for awhile and I thought I had better go ahead and ask.  In the books, there was no way to tell one firelizard egg from another (even a Queen egg...other than it might be bigger).  I've posted with people and read other posts where the personas claim you can tell that a Queen firelizard egg is different.  Now I realize that "in character" these personas could just be mistaken and wrong in their assumptions, but I wanted to make sure as far as canon was actually concerned.  There is no way to tell one firelizard egg from another, correct?

It is pretty much guesswork.  I'd imagine an owner of a gold flit might after several clutches be able to make an educated guess based on the size, but even that wouldn't be too accurate.  Bear in mind that to get another gold you'd need to know for certain that the gold was flown by a bronze, so whole you might get the odd egg that was bigger, or may have gold markings, there's no guarantee what the contents are
