In honour of Remembrance Day/Armistice Day/Veterans Day

Whatever you call this day, it's time to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the rest of us to have the freedoms and lives we do today.

We have our own Veterans Day, but that's celebrated in 27th of April, when we were officially out of WW II (27th april 1945, they day the last of the german soldiers left Fininish soil)

The words are from a poem, used at ceremonies at Cenotaphs around the UK on Remembrance Day (the nearest Sunday to Armistice Day), and again on Armistice Day.  We observe a 2 minute silence on both days, football(soccer) matches and other sporting events will observe a minute's silence at the home match nearest Remembrance Day, sometimes reading the Ode to Remembrance and having a military bugler sound the Last Post, most people purchase and wear poppies as a sign of Remembrance - Yes, we take it pretty seriously in the UK.

The night before Remembrance Day, the Festival of Remembrance is shown on TV. This year is a particularly big deal as it is the centenary of World War 1, and 70 years since D-Day
