Today is my daughter's first day of kindergarten. I was rushed all morning by an excited five year old and even told while I was putting my make up on that "Mommy, we don't have time for that!" Got her to school and had to remind her about hugs and kisses before she ran off to play with new friends. Am a little sniffly now. SHE ISN'T SUPPOSED TO GROW UP SO FAST! *wail*

Yeah, funny how you're more upset than your child....They are just excited, you/I are bawling.  My son just started what I think is called junior high (after the elementary school) in US..he's teen. When that happen?

Ya know I thought I posted here the other day but my post is gone somehow.  I had four kids and each of them had a different experience on their first day.

My last one had been a bit clingy as a baby and just seemed to need me a little more than some of the others. Well when his first day of school rolled around I took him down expecting more of the same behavior but in a flash he seemed to turn a corner.  He just walked into the classroom and took a seat on the floor with the rest of the kids. The room had long windows the full length and I made sure to stay in his line of sight, just in case.

Then when the teacher began to speak he just turned to me and winked! Like 'I got this mom, you can go now.'

He's been pretty independent ever since that day. But of course he's 22 now.

So far Allie loves it but its hard seeing my baby grow up and all...I thought I would welcome school when it came her time. I do, but not in the way I thought
