Okay so it was about time we started a Triad book discussion. I think there was one at some point but anyway.

What am I reading/interested in right now?

-I am an avid reader of Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta novels and I'm going over The Last Precinct now and then Blow Fly is next. Still have a few I need to read.
-Need to get Inheritance by Christopher Paolini to finish the Eragon series. I'm invested now, I have to finish.
-Want to read all of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles but haven't started.
-Have first two books of the Harry Potter series, Plan to read it all through for the first time.
-Love Diana Gabaldon. Have read all the books except the newest one The Scottish Prisoner. Emma, can I borrow?
-I read Sherilynn Kenyon's Dark Hunter novels. Have read all of them and am waiting for the new Nick novel and Time Untime.
-I've read every Pern novel, even the Todd books. The new one, Sky Dragons, is coming in June.
-Gregory Maguire: The last Wicked novel I need to read as well as some others like the tooth faerie story and the ugly stepsister etc
-James Patterson, read some of his books and like them but haven't made a point to read them all. Alex Cross is a good character.
-John Sandford, read some of his and Lucas Davenport is a good character.
-John Grisham, I like his novels and have read alot of them.
-I want to get alot of the other JRR Tolkien stories like The Children of Hurin. They're in my Amazon wishlist.
-Julie Garwood, I love the series she did including The Prize, The Gift, The Ransom etc. Lovely characters.
-I read all the Twilight books by Stephanie Meyer.

Of course I like other things too but this is what I'm working on now.

I actually don't read much, which is ironic, isn't it?  I was an avid reader in high school, but uni pretty much kicked the joy out of it for me.  I still collect books, though!  And every once in a while I get an itch to read.  

When I do, I read Jean M. Aul's Earth Children series (esp. Clan of the Cave Bear - read it many times!).  I also like Paul O. Williams Pelbar Cycle, and AM's Ship Who series.

I really like some Japanese authors, especially Banana Yamamoto, and Koji Suzuki (who wrote the book the move "The Ring" was based on, and it was REALLY good!)

 During vacations at work, I do read books off Gutenburg Project on my computer (just because no one actually know thats what I'm doing that way) and just today I finished the Jungle Book and I also finished Jane Eyre just a few days ago.  

I do NOT seem to be able to get into most modern books, though I will eventually give Harry Potter a try I think.  I will NEVER read the Twilight series because I am annoyed with it.  I don't know the story at all, but I'm from Washington and I thought Forks was the quaintest, most beautiful little town up by the Ho Rainforest, one of my favorite stops when driving the loop around the peninsula...   And from what I understand from my friends who grew up there, the books have just ruined it.  Everywhere is becoming "the place where such and such happened...", people selling out just to make a few bucks off of it... Really trashy.  So sad.  And the author had never actually been there!  I mean really, couldn't she have picked a fictitious town?

My recommendations

The Black Jewel Series by Anne Bishop -- if you like something dark, but with a hint of romance and humor then you'll like these =) I've also got them in PDF format if you want them.

Catherine Anderson--- Catherine writes great historical/contemporary romance novels that have a great plotline and not just the steamy stuff :P I've also got her books in PDF so I can send those to you as well if you want them. (I'll even tell you what order the novels go in :P)
