In other news, my Mommy is coming to see me. She'll be here for Thanksgiving and is going to give me my Christmas pressies since I'll be all alone on Christmas or not in the US at the time... So what are some good girl fun things we can do?

I didn't mind seeing that post twice because I thought it was hilarious when Orlaith said "I will put you here."

I don't actually think you'll do this (because it's weird), but it's somewhat funny so I figured I'd mention it. My mother is really obsessed with Amish people so when we spend time together, we often go to Amish markets, Amish villages, etc. The funny part about it is that my mother finds Amish boys really cute, so we sit around trying to pick which Amish boy she wants to take home with her.

We also get cupcakes from these fancy bakeries that only make cupcakes. Not sure how popular they are in other parts of the country (although I know they're popular because it's on Food Network all the time). Oh! Yeah! And watch Food Network! We do that!

actually we did do the amish thing when i was still in tennessee. There are at least two amish communities near where I used to live. o.O We bought fried pies and butter and cheese and a rocking chair and molasses and..stuff.
Here, not so much with that. And yes, I love Food Network. I'd really love it if I could marry Duff Goldman someday.

I used to work in Baltimore. From what I hear, he's kind of a dick. But he lives in MD and likes Hockey, so I have to give him some kudos for that!

Now Alton Brown on the other hand... I'd totally have his babies!

Sadly the Amish don't get to Southern California. So we watch movie stars instead... I pick... mmmm yeah Alexander Skarsgard. Can I take him home with me?

Heh...I've been watching too much 'Top Gear'...but I am a sucker for big brown eyes and vertically challenged men.  You don't even want to see me at a race track!  All those jockeys!!!!

Ianto was our joke name for the little one when he was a bump.  It was the only name we could find that was Welsh but sounded Jewish! (it's pronounced 'Yan-toe' to our American viewers)

Chelle, if you're in northern California I can recomend Muir woods, a wine tasting trip in Sonoma or a trip to Point Reyes or to Ano Neuvo Bay to see the elephant seals.  If you're in southern California...sorry, can't help you there  :cat:

Alex is actually Swedish and has worked there as well as the US. He was voted Sweden's sexiest man 7 years running.  

Right now he is in HBO's True Blood based on the books about vampires that are way better than twilight.  All 6'4" of him.... but hes Mine I tell you all mine.... pretty please?

Okay so Chelle used to live in Sweden. And I have to tell you, it's amazing seeing how true Nordic blood works. So many beautiful men running around. And even though they are heterosexual, they can dress. Well. o.O

Marcus Shenkenberg (sp?) will always be my favorite Swede though Martin Stenmarck is pretty hot.. Course I have a picture of Johan up on my wall in the living room. You girls would go wild over Kristofer too I bet. The boys I used to live with...yum. Ingvar.. let's see...
