How Much Do We Actually Write?

Jane

Thinking about the number of posts per day - which isn't important to me - got me thinking about how many a month.

Taking the figures from the archives I got this:

The archive records the number of posts to the list, so are slightly skewed by OOC postings, corrections, and posts that are for closed months, but are useful for a quick overview, all the same.  (This data collection starts after the forums were opened, so there aren't as many OOC postings as there would have been in the preceding months.)

Here are the raw figures:

    Jan-06 - 218
    Feb-06 -    220
    Mar-06 -    183
    Apr-06 -    112

    Jun-06 -    123
    Jul-06 -    192
    Aug-06 -    122
    Sep-06 -    93
    Oct-06 -    88
    Nov-06 -    146
    Dec-06 -    79

    Jan-07 -    132
    Feb-07 -    143
    Mar-07 -    142
    Apr-07 -    163
    May-07 -    142
    Jun-07 -    118
    Jul-07 -    153
    Aug-07 -    85
    Sep-07 -    96
    Oct-07 -    88
    Nov-07 -    45
    Dec-07 -    64

    Jan-08 -    91
    Feb-08 -    84
    Mar-08 -    104
    Apr-08 -    104
    May-08 -    96
    Jun-08 -    112
    Jul-08 -    113
    Aug-08 -    110
    Sep-08 -    87
    Oct-08 -    93
    Nov-08 -    172
    Dec-08 -    114[/list]

I hope you've enjoyed this posting from somebody who doesn't get outside much.  :geek:

    Awesome Jane!

Let's see if we can keep those numbers up!   :geek:

Cool!  Thanks for compiling all of the information for us to see, and then putting it in a pretty chart.  Just seeing the list of numbers wouldn't have done much for me, but the color coding and everything is great.

    Paula

Geez! Wow! Good work, Jane (you're a bit of geek are you?)  :geek:

Lucifer: Right. You'll need a much bigger notepad.

Jane, that is seriously cool!  Cool enough that I popped up out of nowhere just to tell you.  ;)  But everyone knows I love me some statistics.

    Thank you.

In your absence somebody has to be Triad's nerdy statistics girl ... I volunteered! :geek:

    Thats Awesome Jane!!

    thanks for doing that :0

And look what it caused - a sighting of a most rare and wonderous creature called a Bree!!!  Its amazing and wonderful :)

    LOL!

No flash photography, it frightens the wild Bree back into her cave.  ;)

I have been busy on edits on what will be the very first book that'll come out in print, hopefully next year just around the holidays.  Edits are hard when you have an editor who isn't afraid to make you cry.

Oh that's fabulous Bree!  You'll have to tell us all about it when it gets closer to publishing.

We do miss you around here though.  You should pop in for some random posting sometime when you need a break from editing. We won't make you cry ;)

And just because I am about to throw this useless list away, I thought I'd give you a list of the 21 people who 'wrote' in November:

      Amanda
      April
      Avril
      Becki
      Cali
      Chelle
      Clancey
      Dana
      Dcstarsearcher
      Eimi
      Elyriel
      Emma
      Francesca
      Jane
      Kaysea
      Mikel
      Paula
      Roxanne
      Teresa
      Vix
      Yvonne

This would be the answer to the question: Which writers were involved in posts that were posted to the list in November 08?

Too much time on my hands?  I think so!  :geek:

    Amanda N

How about a list with the amount of posts people did during that month? :-D

That sounds hard - and I'm working on something else at the moment.  Bigger statistics!  :geek:

    Amanda N

Awww...I bet I get the award for the most posts though! :-D

Oooo...I can't wait to see whatever it is Jane!

    Jane

    I haz more stats!  :computer:

(Oh, and I updated the first graph to add in Dec-08.)

Average Posts per Month by Location (over the 2007/2008 period)

    Jane

And the last two years, showing each year's averages.  :computer:

Average Posts per Month by Location (showing 2007 and 2008 averages)

2008 looks like it was a quieter year than 2007 for most locations, with the notable exception being SWE.  :geek:
