Wow..

We lost our internet for about six hours yesterday. No fun. Of course, we also lost our main phone line as well, since we use Vonage.

Today it's very quiet. The children are playing with playdough. I'm about to do dishes then make lunch.

So what are you guys up to today?

And very glad that I don't start my temp assignment until Monday: for the next few weeks I've been assigned to a different childcare center. Today the new center had to be evacuated for a possible gas leak -- I'm glad to have missed that!

I went to a local quilt shop to get some fabric I needed. Then I worked on housework, then my quilt block for my Baltimore Album quilt. Then got the children up and we were out the door. They ate a snack while I went to the bank to pay the mortgage, then headed down to pick up Kurt. Then we went to the babysitters, then to a class, then picked up the children and got home around 10.45.

Whew.

after I finished my nap, we joined our friends and went to their parents' house. Then after a great meal we watched some BSG, I went home, and went back to sleep.

This morning I had coffee outside in the backyard and watched the wild birds singing in the trees, I folded some laundry, I talked on the phone with my friend for a while, then I went shopping with my mom

I just got back, had a slice of pizza for dinner and now I'm just relaxing

Daughter woke me up five minutes before alarm clock. Then dressed up, dressed her up, listened when she went to wake her brother:" Ow! Don't hit me head with the baby!" (baby born doll) Had breakfast, took daughter to the kindergarden, went to work. Sat first hour in meeting.

My little sister did that to me sometimes when I was sleeping in. That doll was hard too!

That's actually easier. When he bites you, turn your back to him and ignore him. It took about 4 or 5 months of doing that, but it got one of my cats to stop nipping me.

When I would pet my family's cat he was usually really sweet, but every once in a while he'd do that. So when he grabbed my hand and started to bite me, the first time I pulled my hand away, firmly said 'no', and had a nice long old fashioned stare contest with him (it takes a long time, though, so you can't be in a hurry to go anywhere). That showed him that I was really serious about that 'no'. Then a few minutes later I reached out to pet him again. If he let me pet him without biting me then I would keep doing it, but if he made a move like he was going bite me again I'd pull my hand away and ignore him. Walking away and ignoring them is good because that's how cats tell each other that their not happy with something the other did.
