So I'm a big fan of Harry Potter.  Recently, a fellow fan and friend of mine told me about the series of Twilight.  Has anyone else read this series?  She said it's very good and she likes it as much as HP.

Jane

Looks like grown-ups stuff to me.

Are you looking for YA stuff?

Amanda N

Not necessarily.  I was just curious to hear from multiple people about it. :)

Dana

Amanda, are you asking about the Twilight Saga, the series about vampires and werewolves?  If you are, it's YA reading  :)  I read the first book, and the writing is solid.  :)

Though, in my own personal opinion, I didn't like it as much as Harry Potter.  But that's just me  :)  Others may have a different opinion!

Yeah, that's it!  I thought it was YA, but then after that was questioned I wasn't sure.  So you thinki it's worth reading then?

Jane

Is there an author?

You could take it or leave it, I think  :D  If you're into the vampire/werewolf thing, I'd recommend Kelley Armstrong, Patricia Briggs and Laurell K. Hamilton over Stephanie Meyer  :)

Actually, we just started on the Anita Blake series.  Need to get the second book.

Dana

Awesome!  I advise to read up to Obsidian Butterfly, then stop.  Did you know that Marvel/DB are making Anita Blake comic books?  They're still working on Guilty Pleasures.  :)

do they go downhill after Obsidian Butterfly?

Dana

Yes, unfortunately.  I read the one that comes right after Obsidian Butterfly and regretted it.  Then I went onto amazon.com and read the reviews for the rest and they convinced me not to read further.  Anita becomes a different woman completely, not to mention that the storylines become much more...risque...and stay that way without a real plot.

I'll keep that in mind!
