What other hobbies do you have?

Apart from fandom writing, what other hobbies do you have/enjoy?

My hobby has recently turned into a business venture, which means a little less time can be spent online.  

I started scrapbooking a couple of years ago, but now find it easier to 'scrap' cards and off the page stuff, like the monogram over in the margin.  I teach classes in card creations and sell the cards and monograms at local craft markets.

Other than writing and reading the only other hobby I have at present is making cupcakes. LOL

So - what hobbies do you have outside of writing?

Currently I'm working 10+ hour days and on weekends I'm still unpacking/getting my apartment in order or doing errands like getting a driver's license for my new state.

However, one of my main hobbies is playing Runescape.

I'm a book collector.  I do book fairs all over the lower North Island and buy and sell books.  (Mainly buy, unfortunately.)  I also do some book finding and buying for friends who don't have the time to devote to it that I do.

Mostly I work at the local library and on my grad degree.

But when I find myself needing to come up for air, I do all manner of things. Reading, writing, research for stories in progress, yoga, Calligraphy, SCA (Society of Creative Anachronism), tatting (vistorian lace making), spinning, and the occasional odd computer games are my most frequent unwinders. And I wouldn't call this a hobby, but it's coming more frequent -attending weddings for old friends. I've done three this year, and have another two scheduled for next summer...

Mostly reading and writing, but on occasion I'll draw, and I love being outside. I canoe and climb, mostly, with climbing being my new 'big thing'. It's kind of exhilerating! (or however you spell that)

I also like to cook, although I hate cooking for my onesies. Living by myself can be a drag at times.

I draw and read    I'm also in the process of collecting first edition hardcovers of my favorite books.  To complete my Pern set, I just need the stated first ed. of "Dragonquest," a first ed./first printing of the 1970s "The White Dragon" and a first printing of "Dragonsinger."  My winter hobby is downhill skiing.  It's as close as I can get to feeling like I can fly  :D  It's absolutely thrilling.

Picking wild berries and mushrooms is nice autumn-hobby. (Even if you don't find anything, you get fresh air and nice walk around woods.)

I knit and do crochetry, although I'm currently between projects. When the winter comes and evenings gets darker, I'll start something new again.

I read. No explanation needed.

I don't count cooking as a hobby, it's a part of being mom, but I do like to experiment new foods/receipes. It's very discouragning when kids say Yack even before they've tasted it!

I've started to go to gym, since they quit my usual sunday step-aerobic-class. :(

Cooking - I tried a new recipe for buns/muffins/cupcakes/whatever you want to call them the other night, and they passed the taste test - i.e. my Dad loved them!

Reading - well isn't that obvious? I've been going through withdrawal while my local library was shut for refurbishment

Knitting - I need to to go into the knitting shop in Bolton on my way home from work, I saw a pattern I want to try, but haven't got the wool.

Gym - I reluctantly drag myself there twice a week

Walking - More fun, and more sociable than the gym!

Hmmm... I think the hobbies I have here in Japan are different from the hobbies I had in the states.  In the states I love taking long drives.  Even to no where.  I just loved driving.  I drove 17 hours just to see Mt. Rushmore.  And I loved camping, and dock fishing (though I am not a big fan of eating what I'd catch), and going to sports games, playing raquetball, going to the gym (which I desperately need to do), going to the movies...

In Japan, I don't have a car, and they don't have so many nice camping spots, no movie theater in town...  Here I like to watch sports on TV, going to random places,  I've gotten into photography, going out to dinner with friends (not that I didn't like to do that before, but now I have MONEY to do that!), watching documentaries...  And teach English to little old ladies XD

Well I have two jobs plus I am in charge of the children's ministry at my church,  so with Triad stuff, I have like 4 jobs LOL

BUT between all of that, I love to read  

I have a great fireplace in my new house and even in summer I like sitting by it to read.

I love to swim and boat in the summer.  In the winter, I like to ski.   I love going to movies and I love kids, so teaching really counts as a hobby (even if its a job....)

I do cross stitch, but I need some help! Paula help!

I love to play games, cards especially.  Big fan of game/card nights.  

I collect wolves.  Thats a hobby right?  I collect figurines and pictures and am trying to go to all the wolf parks/preserves in the US and Canada.

And my favorite hobby of all is TRAVELING  I'll go anywhere at the drop of a hat.   Give me a map and a way to get there, and I'm off.   My list of places I've been is growing, but my list of places to GO grows at the same speed!  

I love to meet people from online too, so if any one wants a transplanted Texan showing up on their doorstep, HOLLER

I need to win the lotto so I can just travel all the time.   Course, then I'd have to play. !

Well, there's Lusternia. Besides that, I pop in on other MUDs to see if they're interesting.

I read a lot of fanfiction (right now, I'm mostly into Ninja Turtles, Transformers (but only based on the 2007 movie), and of course, Harry Potter fics) - not sure if that's considered a hobby or not! :jg:

Mikel's gotten me hooked on this strategy war game called Travian

I go to the movies a lot and watch a lot of tv. Reading is also a favorite pass-time, as is writing and drawing.

With my new teaching job, I feel like I don't have time to do anything else.

I do however enjoy going to the movies when there is one out that I want to pay to see. We attempted this last night, but there wasn't anything playing that screamed you have to see me or else.

I spend time with my animals and my family. I'd love to go canoeing or horseback riding again when I have my Saturdays free. I'm still working at the office on Saturdays for a while to help them transistion into not having me there. They don't call me everyday like they did the first two weeks I was gone.

I read and I try to write Triad stuff. I plan on getting better at that.

Aimee used to play that too, but hasn't since the boyfriend came on the scene.  She now spends her time on the PC talking to him on MSN, I think?  And on MySpace.
