An American teaching English to Japanese.

I can match that with - A Chinese teaching Japanese to Australian's.  

Aimee's year 10 Jap teacher is Chinese.  Aimee's actually going to Japan next year with the school and is considering taking a gap year in Japan between high school and Uni, to do what you're doing.  She's been learning Japanese since grade prep - so this is her 11th year of Japanese.  She also writes Kanji, Hiragana [sp?] and the other one (can't remember the name).

BUT between all of that, I love to read :)  

I have a great fireplace in my new house and even in summer I like sitting by it to read.

I love to swim and boat in the summer.  In the winter, I like to ski.   I love going to movies and I love kids, so teaching really counts as a hobby (even if its a job....)

I do cross stitch, but I need some help! Paula help!

I love to play games, cards especially.  Big fan of game/card nights.  

I collect wolves.  Thats a hobby right?  I collect figurines and pictures and am trying to go to all the wolf parks/preserves in the US and Canada.

And my favorite hobby of all is TRAVELING :)  I'll go anywhere at the drop of a hat.   Give me a map and a way to get there, and I'm off.   My list of places I've been is growing, but my list of places to GO grows at the same speed!  

I love to meet people from online too, so if any one wants a transplanted Texan showing up on their doorstep, HOLLER :)

I need to win the lotto so I can just travel all the time.   Course, then I'd have to play. !

Talk about a full week.  You made me tired just reading all of that, I feel so lazy now. LOL

I read a lot of fanfiction (right now, I'm mostly into Ninja Turtles, Transformers (but only based on the 2007 movie), and of course, Harry Potter fics) - not sure if that's considered a hobby or not! :jg:

Mikel's gotten me hooked on this strategy war game called Travian

I go to the movies a lot and watch a lot of tv. Reading is also a favorite pass-time, as is writing and drawing.

My older kids loved the Ninja Turtles.  I must have seen the original movie about 50+ times.  Cowabunga Dude!!!

I spend time with my animals and my family. I'd love to go canoeing or horseback riding again when I have my Saturdays free. I'm still working at the office on Saturdays for a while to help them transistion into not having me there. They don't call me everyday like they did the first two weeks I was gone.

I read and I try to write Triad stuff. I plan on getting better at that.

I used to love horse riding, but I'd need a Clydesdale to carry me now, and after the fall I took on the weekend, I just know my bones wouldn't handle horse riding any more.  To much shaking and I'd fall apart.  The last time I went was about 12 years ago, and I spent four days in a wheelchair afterwards coz my hips went out on me. LOL

I've been thinking I'm brave spending $25 on the last two Temeraire books - never mind over $25 but under $100.

I just wish I had USD$100!!!  I have Pounds, and a handful of euros and some other holiday money.  But no book budget until pay day

Book money left for this month = $214.43 out of a monthly allowance of $200.  I'm ahead of the game and it's more than half-way through the month!  This doesn't happen very often.

Of course, I'm off to book fairs on Friday and the following Saturday.  That may result in a more normal look to the book budget.
