Nasty weather

It's that time of year around here -- numerous thunderstorms.
Today I swam at my friend's house, knowing that storms were expected later. At the first rumble of thunder, we started packing away floats, stowing anything that might blow away, then went to the house to change clothes. By the time I had changed, it was totally dark outside and the wind was blustery. I decided to outrun the storm and drive home (a 20-minute drive). I ended up not being able to see for the rain in sheets, fighting to keep the car on the road through the wind, wondering if I'd make it through the flooded parts of the road, and having the car pummeled by branches and hail. It was truly a nasty storm!

Yikes!  I hate driving when it's like that.  Glad you made it home safe.

Awful weather!

It's cold here - very cold inside and out.  Not snow-cold, because we don't get that, but more than the electric fan heater can handle, that's for sure!

Sounds like the weather we've been having except no hail that I know of. Makes it sort of nice since the power's still out. That should be back up and running on Thursday sometime.

Here it fluxuates between super humid and comfortably cool, but its raining every day and probably will be for the next week or two.  Its "tsuyu" which is the Japanese version of monsoon season.  And when its over, then it just goes into the god aweful sticky yucky humidity that doesn't let up until typhoons start coming around...
