I feel like I have been at blue dragon status here at the board for a very long time... I am tired of blue and want a pretty brown dragon! ;)

Anyone know the various milestones between egg and gold? Just for us eternally curious souls!

Well, Patrick is a brown dragon at 242 and Rochelle is a blue dragon at 123. Does that help any?

Yeah, I was think that probably the 100s are blue, the 200s browns, 300s bronze and above 400 golds.

Which is rather disappointing really, because I have a lot of posts to go before I hit the 200s!

There must be something more tricky about it. Yvonne is a bronze dragon on 393 and Clancey also on 494.

But 500+ does seem to be gold.

To work on it for yourself go to the membership list and sort it by 'total posts'.

I think Bree said in another thread that she didn't realise some people would get to gold so fast and then have no more progression. Perhaps we can help her out by suggesting another set of 'status' titles, either to add on or to instead of the current six levels.

Right now it's: egg - weyrling - green dragon - blue dragon - brown dragon - bronze dragon - gold dragon.

Perhaps ... Oh, I don't know. Candidate, weyrling, wingrider, wingthird, wingsecond, wingleader, weyrleader. That would give one extra level and be a nice, logical progression.

Or perhaps put those first - the real career progression ones as people are newer to the boards so they have achievable targets - and then the five colours? That would give twelve levels.

I shall stop now. (I think I need a life.)

I was actually thinking about doing that, Jane!

I will put in as MANY ranks as you guys can come up with... as long as someone else sorts them into order for me! :D

I sort of like the idea of going through all the craft ranks and then dragonrider ranks... dragons get to be the top just because this IS Pern, after all. ;)

Go wild coming up with them! If someone wants to organize idea gathering and a sorting, I will implement the finished project. :D

And I don't remember all of the levels, but 500 is gold right now.

Well, then, I think the advancement points should be nice and small when starting out, but then get bigger to stop us using up all the level quickly.

Up to:

10 - candidate (or whatever)

30 - weyrling

60 - wingrider

100 - wingthird

150 - wingsecond

210 - wingleader

280 - weyrleader

There's a natural break here, so the rate progression could slow:

400 - green dragon

600 - blue dragon

850 - brown dragon

1150 - bronze dragon

1500 - gold dragon

Even so, Bree you would still be a gold dragon with no hope of progression. Perhaps you could choose your own title after that?

And I can help with the ranks, Bree! I know how to do them! ::claps for one bit of spontaneous learning::: I was trying to figure out how to make titles and I found that out too!

FYI, bronze is at 300 and gold at 500, just as y'all surmised.

It would be fun to have ranks using our persona titles... hold resident, holdless, steward, ship captain.. etc.. plus all the crafts like Bree said.

April's idea of 2 gold is a good one too. Maybe you could add the craft ranks and hold ranks in for more and make the sr gold dragon a little ways higher still.
