Avatars, and how to get them!

Well, the biggest loss in our site crash was that of our avatars.

Since letting people upload their own is a security vulnerability I'm not planning on opening us up to again any time soon, I've dumped a few quirky ones up on the server for now.

Anyone who would like to MAKE avatars can send them to me to be added to the site.

Anyone who would like to REQUEST a certain type of avatar can do so in this thread.

If you have any questions about the avatar policies, or if something is appropriate, ask away!

If your avatar was hosted off site, this does NOT affect you. You can go about your merry way. :D

How do I set my Avatar?

You may choose your avatar from a gallery of avatars. The gallery is a collection of avatars stored on the server that the board is running on. To select an avatar from the gallery, follow these steps:

1) Click on "Profile" on the menu at the top of the forum, taking you to your personal profile.

2) Scroll down to the bottom of your profile until you find your avatar control panel.

3) Click Show Gallery.

4) Use the dropdown list at the top of the gallery to navigate between categories of avatars.

5) To choose an avatar, check the radio button underneath it and click Select Avatar.

This should update your avatar!

New avatars thanks to clipart from Arolos Weyr! For anyone who doesn't know, Arolos helps out by maintaining a great clipart gallery that is open for use. You can find it here:

Since there's no way to see the avatar gallery at the moment without going into your pofile page, I'll post new avatars here so people can get a peek at what we have and make requests for something they want.
